So, i just modded another box and everything went without a hitch. ...or so i thought. I burned about 30 games or so to it using dvd2xcopy and i played a few and they worked fine. HOWEVER, there's a few of them that just get stuck when i try to play them. Some start to load...then nothing. the screen just freezes. what do you think the problem might be? im running evok 3935.
maby bad burns? maby bad evok? just thought i'd ask. i read something in one of the forums about deleting the cache on e:\ ...i was thinking of trying this but i figure i'd ask first if someone could tell me what that directory does....just so i could get an understanding of the entire situation so i didnt feel like such a monkey.

if you copied a lot of games you may haved filled you cache file or
you updata or tdata on e drive, empty those folders but be sure to save game saves to a memory card or other device

empty all in E:\CACHE\, also X:\ Y:\ and Z:\, it should work, now remember that if you fill up the E drive, you must at least have 400 megs ,for game cache, and new gamesaves as you go. If you don't have enough space, you won't be able to save games as so you, nor load some that require space on E:\CACHE\

Thanks again. It worked out perfectly ...just like everytime i have a problem and ask help from you guys.
I have yet another question though, To dispell my n00bness... I'm wondering why? This is the fourth box i've modded (did one originally..then friends wanted me to do theirs) I never had this problem before. I havent strayed from the original formula you guys have posted in your tutorials...what did i do wrong? is it the fact that im using old boxes? I figured since i was installing a new harddrive (250g to 300g) it pretty much had at least 220 gis for saves and for burning games. Does this mean that after a while once my friends burn hella more games or movies to their boxes that they are going to have the freezing problem i had ....meaning am i going to have like 4 dudes show up at my door wanting me to fix their boxes?

This doesn't sound right, but freezing' issues have nothing to do with hdd space.
I got 105 mb left on my 120 gig F partition, and all my games work fine, no freezes no nothing, i don't even need to clear my cache, mb it's cause i power off or IGR in game's main menu instead of doing it randomly
Anyways, I'll be getting a 300Gig soon, since i got 4 new games that just came out, and i can't put them in there, and i hate using discs, and yes i also hate using backups........hdd upgrade is the best thing that's ever happen to the xbox _________________ Xbox v1.1

yeah, 300 gig is the way to go. Im actually considering making one with a bigger than 300 gig drive because i want to install one in my car...and load a buncha movies on it...yay. haha.
of course this means im going to have to getinto case mods which im sure will open a whole slew of new problems for me hahah.
