I have a Xbox v1.6 chipped with Spiderchip 1.1, and flashed the bios with no problems.
The reason it was chipped because it just booted to error 16, and i thought that chipping it would help solve that.
Now the problem is that it still boots to error 16 (dashbord problems), and when i try to boot with AID 2.11 the disc doesn't boot up.
But the strange thing is that when i start the xbox with the disc in, it goes to the big green xbox logo, and where the white microsoft text would display it reads "AID 2.11" for a while then it goes on to error 16.
Since that text show, i assume that it can read the disc, but it doesn't boot.
I have tested with a few different disc brands and also tried using CD-rw with no luck. Can it be a media related problem and i should just keep trying with different discs or is it something else?
ps. i tried searching but couldn't find anything, so if i have missed a thread i apologise.

After some searching on the internet i have concluded that this seems to be a rare problem.
But since it shows "AID 2.1" under the xbox logo it would seem that it reads the disc, but just won't boot it.

Well I'm a newb, but as far as I know, Samsung drives don't get along with dvd+ media.
Try dvd-r/w

Some drives don't like certain brands of DVD's. I suggest you buy 1 each of different types so that you know which one works instead of buying a spindle and it not working. I use Sony and Fuji, they seem to work pretty good. _________________

I would suggest that u use dvd- but also repack the iso to have a large dummy file. I wasted 2 dvd's and 3 cd's. In the end i rebuilt the iso with a 1.5 gig dummy file and hey presto it worked. Same discs, burn prog and content except the dummy file on the disc and it magically works. _________________ So many problems, so little time to inflict them on others.
