i was wondering.. if i use the knave hotswap installer directly into a new hdd, the i lock it with xboxhdm? will it work?
i have never made a eeprom backup, i asume since that worked for me i can use the general eeprom...

Yeah, that will work. I've done it and softmodded a friend's box with Knave's utility. Don't worry about the pause/break and quickly swapping IDE cables, just boot the xbox, boot the pc and swap before it boots to the cd, I've always done it that way and the boxes are always unlocked!!!
