Once you install the chipand flash it, get AID 2.11 and install all the apps and dashboards. The app you will need for backups is DVD2XBOX. Dashboard is like the chips, personal preference. I stuck with evox, others like avalaunch and unleashx. _________________

I'mmm baaaack!
Dashboard hands down XBMC. Dvd ripping I use DVD2Xbox. Burning I use Nero. All dashes, bios and Dvd tools (+more) are all on AID by the way.

One more question guys.
Do I need to prepare my new 250GB HDD ? or should I just install it in the XBOX and the run AID 2.11 and partition/format it from there ?
I would like to keep my game saves and other stuff that is on the original HDD and was thinking about using the Xenium OS clone disk option.
If I need to partition/format it what is the recommendation ? How many partitions and how big should each one be ?
If you guys can give me examples from what you have done that would be great.
Thanks,
zoti

As the old saying goes "Don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff".
When you boot AID and go to formatting, it will ask you if you wish to format certain drives or certain configurations including the G drive. Select yes and let it handle the formatting and drive size issue. It's a smart piece of software and as I've said before, if it was edible, it would practically be it's own food group!
Side note, I've never tried the disk clone, so I don't know how the Xenium OS will handle the cloning process. I'd have to do some homework. If Rabid1 sees this thread, I would bet he could give more specifics. He's the Xenium OS God.
Oh and one more thing but certainly not the least, thank you for the donation. 100% of it is used to keep this site and it's sister 360 site up and running (in other words, it pays the bills), so every $ is appreciated! _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I'm getting my modchip today. I dl AID and there are some extra files and folders along with the ISO. I'm trying to figure out which bios I need to install out of all. I understand that I want a 137+ bios but what size ? 256kb ? 512kb ? This is a bit confusing.
After I chose the correct bios, do I need to add it to the ISO or is it already there ? I can't open the ISO on my PC. I figure this is because it is in XBOX format. Am I correct ?
And when I burn it on a DVD (It wont fit on my 650mb CD-RW) do I need to add the dummy file ?
TIA

I burned the bios to its own cd, not in the aid cd.
When you burn aid to a dvd, you will need to add a dummy file. A dummy file simply takes up room. I used a bunch of mp3's to take up about 3 gigs of space. So yes, you do need a dummy file(s), it just makes it easier.

I use evox M8+ 137+ burnt to its own cd-rw. You need to then flash it through the add item part on your xenium os screen...i suggest downloading the iceguide in the manuals section on teamxodus.com...its a very good guide for xeniums and it is all the same for all xenium ice chips....so check it out and it will probably answer all of your questions...good luck...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

OK. Here is where I stand at the moment.
Got the Modchip and installed it. It was easy. The only thing that was missing on the instructions was where to connect the metal ring that is on the external led module wires. I put it under the screw that holds the solderless adapter. It works fine.
I got the Xenium OS updated to 2.3.0. The xbox refused to do it from the CD so I eventually burnt the recovery.bin file on a cd and copied it to E:\. That worked and the OS was updated.
I installed the EvoX dash using the AID. I also installed the microsoft dash that was on AID (5960).
I installed XBMC and all the programs and emulators.
I can boot to the EvoX dash and run everything but when I try to boot to the original MS dash it gives me error 13 which I guess means something is wrong with the dashboard.
Any idea on how to fix that ?

Did you install it as an app? Also, did you follow the iceguide and add your retail kernel after you flashed a new bios....what bios did you flash with anyways....you should create a sig now that you have some stuff loaded onto your box....either way you will have your problem sorted out soon enough...maybe you even figured it out yourself before reading this...but good luck...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

Yeah, I just figured it out myself. Went on and installed the MS dash from the AID again. Figured it won't do any harm and it fixed the problem.
I'll create a signature now.

I don't play on Live but I figured I better have it installed incase I'd like to.
If I boot from the retail kernel then I won't get banned. Right ? _________________ =========================
