I modded a box and used AID3. All went good, everything looks normal. I didn't have time to check how all the apps were running(or as Shark2th would say"Play with it" Laughing ) because the wife started having contractions, nothing major but being that she is high risk I needed to stop. I will check the apps today as well as using dvd2xbox and make sure that works as well.

Sweet, thanks enigma516 for the feedback Smile

The softmod area is what we really need pulling apart guys, normal modchip installations should work no problem. So please, any that can softmod (and knows how to recover their xbox to their current state) please try out the AID 3 system of softmodding. The menus are exactly the same as SID 3.1 final and should be as operational. One good feature with AID 3 though, when using the Patch MS 5960 you don't need the MS Backup, it loads the MS Dash straight from AID Very Happy

Keep up the good work guys !!

Not for a while yet, just use aid 2.11 and sid 3.0 as it's more than good enough.

hey ,

the only thing so far that id like to point out ...

there is no way to install all the dashboards to c:\

c:\dashboards directory should be created and have subdirectories for each dash :evox , unleashx etc,

i dont know if im missing it or its simply not there ,

the reason why id like this feature is for use with the xselect ,
i know all the dashes can be installed but not to c:\

also it would be good if all the dashboards xbes were installed with its oryginal names and not evox.xbe when installing all the dashboards to c:\dashboards for use with the xselect ,

thanks djb

No you're not missing nothing, there is no option to install the dashboards to C. The main reason being why is was never created was because when I developed the "Install Apps" portion of AID, I only covered E, F, and G. I never seriously thought that ppl would think of installing multiple dashboards to C. Like yourself I also use XSelect, so I only have that in my C drive, then I have all the dashboards installed to E:\Apps\ (where they have to be renamed to default.xbe). For me to add this new section, I have about 15 diffreent versions of the AID 3 script to change, and I only really want to change the scripts now if there is an actual error. The other reason too is that I would consider it bad practice to put anything on C that doesn't have to be there, firstly due to diskspace, and secondly if you're smart (or lucky) enough to have your BIOS flashed to boot another drive besides C you could keep your C Drive toally clean, with only the MS dash on there.

The reason why I keep the dashboard names as evoxdash.xbe (for when installed as a dash) or default.xbe (when installled is an app) is because this has turned out to be a standard over the years I guess. You'll find it very unlikely to see a BIOS which will not boot evoxdash.xbe, however you will find a lot (especially older ones) which won't boot for example unleashx.xbe or xbmc.xbe.

Anways, I appreciate your thoughts and input, but as you can see I've basically got what I want in this. So, the main question is did it work without a hitch, for what it can do?

I got this for some reason with beta 8.....I will try to redownload some time tonight and post an update.

! C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\xbox\AID3-beta8\aid3b8.rar: CRC failed in Addon Packs\AID3.Addon.BIOS.Pack.v1.03.rar. The file is corrupt
! C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\xbox\AID3-beta8\aid3b8.r05: Packed data CRC failed in Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Beta.8.iso. The volume is corrupt
! C:\Documents and Settings\...\My Documents\xbox\AID3-beta8\aid3b8.r11: Packed data CRC failed in Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Beta.8.iso. The volume is corrupt
! CRC failed in Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Beta.8.iso. The file is corrupt

btw, I only see aid3beta8 when i download it to a folder and can not see which one is the start one.....hence .00, .01 etc they just all say beta8...when i download them i see the .00 but not when it is downloaded and put into a folder....i think my errors might have been a result of pausing during them but who knows...i will give it another shot....just wanted to give you an update...btw, beta6 worked pretty good for me on a chipped box.

Yup I heard from Pirrup aswell that it was corrupted, I'm re-uploading it now. It should be ready for testers to download again in about 12 hours from now...

Pirrup also requested a new tool to be added to the installer, so I had to to go through the apps install section again, so while I was there I added the choice to install apps to C Drive.

The way the ISO is distributed now, all the non-default skins are in addon packs, so I think you should easily get away with installing all dashboards (and maybe an app or two) to C before it completely fills up.

** BETA 8 UPDATE **

Still re-upping, still probably about 6 hours off being ready.

BETA 9 has been created, this beta won't be released to the public (waiting till about maybe 11 or 12 and then I'll be declaring a final). Check the changelog for more information...

OK,Beta 10 has been on the server for a while now. Some people were complainng about corruption in the files, but I've had several people already report back that is was fine.

So testers, if you could please mention if you haven't been able to download it I would appreciate it.
