So, i used clone xb beta 2.3 as well as clone xb 2.1 and tried to burn the iso to a dvd r, tried memorex and jvc, and when i put it into the xbox, it says unknown or empty on my evox dashboard. i have it softmodded, and i have tried to burn the iso after/before rebuilding the iso, i have tried burning with the dvd decrypter that is included, and i have tried using gdfimage that i downloaded, as well as the clone xb's included program equivalent to gdfimage, and i have tried burning with nero 6. something.something
am i an idiot, and what could i do to make this work?
the game in question is splinter cell(original), and its getting old, so of course i need a backup.

what? if your backing up a game disk, put it in your Xbox and ethier use dvd2xbox to copy it to your hdd and use a program like Qwix to create teh iso, or just start with Qwix and create the iso from the Xbox's D:/ straight to your pc. burn with dvddecryper or some other app that can burn images

clone xb lets me do basically what you are saying, and dvd decrypter is what i used to burn the iso from that. when i said i used memorex and jvc, i meant those brand dvdr's. regardless, i have tried to use dvd decrypter to burn the iso, but it just says that the disc is unknown when put in the xbox.

If you are tryingt do this all on your computer then I dont think it will work or recognize on your dvd player...i believe you need to do what funkyd has said by placing the disk in your xbox, ftp to comp and use qwix then dvddecrypter...good luck...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

thats what i tried.
with clone xb the iso for splinter cell is about 2.7 gigs and with qwix, its about 5. i dont know if my settings are wrong or what, but its not working at all, no matter what i try, as the disc just comes up unknown when i put it in the xbox.

Have you checked to see if the settings on dvd decrypter have changed. There have been times that I reboot dvd decryper and it's not on iso write. Once Qwix makes the iso, it should just be a matter of burning to disc. Unless your dvd drive has become picky as to the media it will read. _________________

ive tried ripping the iso to my comp via ftp via qwix and clone xb. and both times i got it successfully, but when ive burned it with nero and dvd decrypter, it either says unknown or no disc when i put in in the xbox.
i have an xbox v 1.4
and my dvd drive is a samsung dvd-rom sdg-605B
dvd firmware x010
its softmodded with splinter cell and sid, and evox is my dash.
is there something wrong with what i have poted above that would make it not work?
