I need some help on how to make a bios cd for my version 1.0 xbox.I have the xenium chip and have visited the ozxodus site but i'm not haveing any luck.where and how should i make a bios bin file and how do i know what media to use??I'm a real dummy when it comes to this stuff but i'm trying to learn.Thanx for any information it helps...

First you actually need the hacked bios. Your chip most likely came with a legal version bios. It will allow your chip to operate, but you won't be able to do a lot of cool stuff like backup games to HD and run different types of media.
If you donate $10 to this site, you will receive a VIP membership for one year. That membership is like gold in the modding world. You can download tons of apps, bios', dashboards, and more importantly the latest autoinstaller made by DJB. Of course we also have the Slayers autoinstaller, but IMHO that one is pretty dated!
Browse our tutorials, as we have one that tells you how to make the bios CD and flash your chip successfully. I have posted a Xenium tutorial, if you have troubles with it just reply to this post and I'll answer any questions you may have.

My xbox wont read cd-r's.I'm not sure if its because i got the 1.0 version or what.Do I need to use cd-rw's??Also I've been tryin to join this site for like a week but i never get that e-mail with the link to finish the joining process.I'll keep tryin.I got the latest version of nero but don't realy know where to begin.How can i make a bios if the box wont read a cd-r??

Only a XBOX with a SAMSUNG DVD-ROM DRIVE will read cdr's and im sure you wont have one of them as they are pretty rare. Have a browse through this tutorial which explains which drive can read which media.
If you want to know what XBOX DVD-ROM drive you have you will need to open the xbox and check it out.. Its very simple!

No other members are having problems.. Try again but use your ISP email.. It doesnt like hotmail etc.. Hope to see ya joining the crew really soon.

Well, All you need to do is burn the BIOS onto a CDRW instead.. Your XBOX will read CDRW's but its finding which brand it like best is the problem.. I would suggest buying a couple of cheaps brands of cdrw and doing some testing until you find the cdrw your xbox reads.
anyway, youll get it sorted. Just read through the newbie tutorials which are located here..
Hey it worked this time I had to send it to my cox e-mail address for some reason it wouldn't work through aol.But anywayz i got a phillips drive.Any suggestions on the type of brand for cd-rw's I should use??I'm also getin a lil pissed off at my solderless addapter.It will work just fine for a few hours then i had to end up takeing my box apart to figit with the chip till it boots up rite agian.If I push down on the chip a lil it will work agian for a few hours.If this keeps up i might have to just go for the solder job I guess but i'd rather stay away from that if at all possible.Anybody else had a prob like this??

That's the only drag with solderless chips. However, we have some users here that are getting OUTSTANDING results with them. Hopefully, the will ring in and give you some solid advice!

Ok well I got the chip thing worked out and i found a cd-rw that works but im still totaly lost on this burning the bios thing.I found that i had to switch my nero from the regular mode to expert mode(which is not me)to get the make a udf/iso mode to pop up.From here i get lost.Where do i make the bios.bin file??On the hd of my pc??Im not realy sure what it is im even trying to accomplish by makeing a bios cd.I know thats got to sound dumb but my overall goal is to save some money on games(which will def save me alot of cash if i ever get this thing working).after i get this bios thing worked out am i very far from achieving this goal??This bios thing is way over my head at the time and i seriously need some help guys.This has been a long learning process that i will never forget but its been fun.
