I purchased a Xbox Xecuter 3 CE ModChip from modchipstore.com I had them "professionally" installed, assuming it would be shipped to me ready to be used. Upon arrival, I realized I had to flash the bios. I went to a forum and got the link for the correct bios. I flashed bank two (off on off off) and the screen would freeze at "XECUTOR ROX MY BOX." It just sits there, no matter how long I wait. I contacted the company and they said it sounds like an incorrect bios. So I flashed bank 2 with the bios they linked me to. Still, regardless of how many times I successfully flashed the bios, the startup screen freezes at: "XECUTOR ROX MY BOX." Now, I some how flashed bank one (on off off off), so now banks 1 and 2 freeze at "XECUTOR ROX MY BOX."
Can someone please tell me how I can set the chip back to default and get this working. This is extremely frustrating as I paid a lot for the chip and to have it installed. Modchipstore.com is extremely unprofessional and has now stopped returning my emails since I added that 4 friends had their Xboxes at another company and it worked when they received it.

What bios have you been trying to flash to your chip? How big is your hdd? What version is your xbox? Also, once you get your bios working right chances are you are going to have to install a dashboard and some apps in order to utilize your xbox to its fullest potential....you can do this by downloading aid 2.11 from the vip section or by going to aideluxe.com and download it via torrent.....it will help you out a great deal....good luck.
You also have to look and see what size bios banks the xecuter has...must be the right size, ie. 256, 512, or 1mb....double check that, you might have done the right bios but the wrong size one...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

I believe you just need to boot into the flashing program, and then upload some dashboard files via ftp, otherwise just go download AID _________________

I would suggest trying to answer the questions I posted above either from looking at the site you bought the box from, etc. Create a signature like the one at the bottom of my posts and if you cant answer it just leave the section blank. Can't help you without knowing some stuff about your box. Also, it makes perfect sense that your box did not come ready to go right out of the box since that is illegal and you you must put hacked dashboards and bios' on there yourself. Steps that you still need to accomplish are:
1. flash bios
2. Install aid 2.11
Please do some reading before you get all mad....the more you know about your box the easier it is for us as well as yourself to fix it....just take some time and do some reading in the tutorials section or in the forums...I mean if you really dont want to read you can send it to someone else from this site to help you out but that is going to cost you money and time...so why not learn some stuff....this is a great site with many knowledgable people...later. _________________ Xbox V1.6

I finally got the XBox to flash and now I can get past the XECUTOR ROX MY BOX screen. I have a question, what do these dashboards do, exactly? Do I need them? If I do not have a game in the system, I get an error that the Xecutor chip is not present. I have also had 5 games not work, but 6 burned games do work fine. I was just curious exactly what these dashboards do. I have the standard harddrive, so I am not copying games to the drive, I am simply making DVDs.

Think of a dashboard like windows...it makes it so you can navigate throughout your xbox.....I highly suggest getting one....I havent used any others but I use evox3935 if you were interested...good luck. _________________ Xbox V1.6

the main reason why it would freeze there, it was cause it didn't find any dash files, and i think it didn't find the MS either, or else it would of boot to it.
since your a n00b, you'll have to find tutorials, and i mean it.
use bios tools to edit the bios of choice, and reflash your chip.
Use AID, or build your own boot disc (tutorials out there with just 5 or less megabytes to download.
quick tutorial on installing a dashboard.
go to xbins, or the VIP seccion here in xbx-hq, and download unleashx dashboard and evox (optinal), and while your at it download the recomended, dvdx2 (team xecuter) and xbmc (xbox media center). now since X3 will for sure havce the C:\evoxdash.xbe setup, that's gonna be your main goal for dashboard. so you'll do this.
get unleashx.xbe (or default.xbe) and name it to default.xbe (if needed), and a second 1 called evoxdash.xbe (same file), and your config.xml file if you want (not necessary), if your hdd is not formated, this disc will, now you'll make an xbox iso with tools like qwinx or c-xbot tool (find them), and you'll add the folder where you put the files mentioned above, and you'll make an iso.
Then this iso will be burn on a cdrw disc at 4x, and you'll put it in your xbox and boot it(if it doesn't boot, turn off xbox with disc inside, and turn back on), and if you can't boot it, then try different media(other brand cdrw).
if you get to do this, you can now go file explorer, in the unleashx menu, and you'll see partitions, the left you'll use as source, while right will be your target.
so on the right side (change sides with triggers), you'll open C drive, and the left D drive(this is your dvd-rom), and you'll select config.xml(if any) and the evoxdash.xbe file, and copy them (to copy, you'll select files with highlighting, and press start to get a menu of tasks).
after that's done, you should have your dash installed.
as for the dvdx2 and xbmc, just make a folder in E or F drive (if you have F and if you want to), and make a new folder(again press start), and you'll call it "apps", and this will have your 2 folders of dvdx2 and xbmc, and make sure that you see a "default.xbe inside these folders.
other stuff out there, just look for tutorials and don't be lazy, cause if you ask questions referring to simple stuff, you might not get a reply, as i will not, i will only help when i see it that it's needed.
