OK, this is very annoying, I have absolutley no idea what i am doing here at all, please give me a hand. I installed the chip and when i turn in on, it has a solid green LED (i read this is summit to do with ausio or Video??) but the Xenium Bios comes up on the tv (can only just see it.)
So, i want to flash the bios with ftp- but i have read like evrything on the net about this but i cant. I have a cross lan cable going from my Laptop to my xbox (no router) and and I have tried to access it on ftp but i cant. Everyone says 'change the xbox ftp to the same as the computer etc', how can i do that? I surely need to change the xbox's ftp settings in the bios before ftping or it wont connect right?
Help please, its driving me insane!
Thanks

Right
CrazyFruitBat,
Whats up. Ok, to FTP you might need to restart the network from the xenium OS. (BTW how much of the screen can you see?? Any words??) Here's the procedure for restarting the network:
1: Power on, wait about 5 sec, down, down, down, A, Down, A, down, down, down, down, down, A
2: Wait a while, up to 2 minutes, press A. Then, again, press A, wait about 10 sec. and you should be able to get a FTP connection going.
We'll get you there, keep us updated.[/quote] _________________

hi impwiz, no luck there. ill give you the details that i have here. it said connection failed.
I took some pictures of my screen and i managed to get some info from my xbox: IP:192.168.1.32 network: 255.255.255.0 gateway:192.168.1.1
My PC is: 192.168.1.31 Network:same gateway:192.168.1.0
looking at the little connection of the two computers - my pc sends info but the xbox doesnt send. I have a crossover cable (kurosu kabaru in japanese) and both ends are different. tho nowt here! very fustrating.
I've tried turning things on and off in order but thats a no go too.
I can see parts of the screen if i take photos of them with my phone, but i cant tell which one is highlighted, making it a little difficult!
In this case is it easier to do this from a cd until i can see the screen?
Thanks dude, i know this is hard work! _________________ Got an Xbox, want a better one!

Turn off all firewalls including windows firewall until you get ftp configured.
Then you can conifgure your firewall later. It may be just a firewall issue.
Heres a tip..
To see if the xbox is actually connected to your pc network you can do this.
MY XBOX IP = 192.168.0.3
1. Choose 'Start Menu' and then choose 'Run'
2. Type 'cmd' and press enter
3. Now type 'ping 192.168.0.3 -t' or your ip address
4. It will ping the ip address of your xbox and wait for a reply.
5. Jiggle around cords.. Restart the xbox etc etc.. Try and get a ping reply from your xbox ip address..
Once you get a ip address reply it will look like this:
Quote:
Pinging 192.168.0.2 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.0.3: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.3: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.3: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.3: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
If your xbox is NOT connecting you wont get a reply.. It will look something like this:

FH, cheers - i just tried what you said and it was a no go.
I had 'request timed out'. I'm wondering if there is somrthing simple that im missing. I havent set the time on my xbox yet, would that be a problem? Do i need to be in default Dashboard to get a connection? At the moment i only see the xenium bios.
My system is: alienware lappy with my crossover cable coming from where i pug in my adsl modem, other end of the wire obviously goes to the xbox.
When the cable is in and the xbox on, windows always tells me that there is a connection, but I tried pinging it and nothing came back. soooo annoying!
Really stuck ere! any ideas guys? _________________ Got an Xbox, want a better one!

Sounds to me like you havent even got EVOX DASHBOARD running or another hacked dashboard like UNLEASHX, XBMC.
You need to FLASH your modchip with a hacked bios then you use the Auto Installer Deluxe to install a hacked dashboard as your default dashboard..
Once you have a dashboard installed and you can boot to it you then have to setup your ip address settings... EVOX is the easiest to get started as it doesnt have so many options.
anyway, hope thats some more help.. It sounds like you dont even have your xbox setup with a hacked dashboard (evox) yet.. If you dont then you wont be able to ftp into your xbox just yet.

OK, thats answers it all then, so I have to flash my xenium with a by CDRW then right? If I could see stuff, this wouldnt be so difficult. Being a noob and not seeing the screen is a difficult task i can tell ya. I have all the filess here on my PC ready to do stuff with them, but they are just a bit idle at the moment. haha.
After I stick in my CDRW, what menus will i encounter to flash my chip? I gather I find the file on the disk using the xenium os right? _________________ Got an Xbox, want a better one!

Yes via CDRW/DVD-R or i think you can also do it via http in your webbrowser on your computer using the XENIUM DASHBOARD..
There are tutorials in our xbox tutorials section.. Just do a search on xenium and you will find it..
Once you get your modchip flashed.. You will be able to use AIdeluxe.
But hell man.. Its going to be a bit of a job if you cant see the screen isnt it??
Actually.. I think. the best thing for you to do would be this.
1. Flash your modchip (the best way you can).
2. Then download ENIGMAH VIDEO SELECTOR by itself and burn the. iso file to a dvd-r/cdrw and boot in yoru xbox.
3. you can then change your eeprom to NTSC or PAL whatever.
Then you could continue to mod the unit as you like..
Anyway, just trying to offer my advice.. You are in a very different situation..
