I followed the guide on this website for softmodding the xbox using SID 2.0 step by step and it worked perfectly.

Now that I transfered the "MS backup" and the "MOD backup" to my pc using ftp, I noticed that both folder are exactly identical! I did search for eeprom.bin and it's nowhere. I want to change my stock HD with my brand new 200 Gb and I know I need it.

Where can I find it?

I'm using UnleasheX.

if you use EVOX Dashboard to backup your eeprom then it will be placed in C:\BACKUP\

If you use CONFIG MAGIC to backup your eeprom and other information all info is stored on E:\ drive..

here is where my config magic backed up my info to:
E:\config magic\EEPROMBackupBeforeLock.bin
E:\config magic\EEPROMBackupBeforeLock.cfg
E:\config magic\EEPROMBackupBeforeLock.TXT

Hope that helps

Alright, I changed the dash for EvoX and backup the eeprom... You were right, it goes in C:\Backup. Thanks.

But now I did install my new HD and the Xbox thinks it's a 120 Gb. (I know it's a 200 gb). So how can I recover de 80 extra Gb?

did you format the G:\ drive...? Use AID to format the G:\ drive by itself..
Then reboot your xbox and see if it comes up.

Also, check to make sure your dashboard has G: drive enabled..

Apart from that you may need to flash a newer bios but just try those other ones first.

Hi VonMort,

First you need to install the softmod.. Smile

Once the softmod is installed using SID (softmod auto installer 3) you can install the EVOX DASHBOARD..

The you can just choose the 'backup' options from evox..

I also think that SID3 (http://www.aid.xbox-hq.com) has a backup option for your eeprom but im not positive..

hope that helps

bye

Ok.. so you do have to install the softmod first. Ok. that makes sense. The instructions make it sound like it should back up the eeprom before. I was trying to find it and never could. Thanks for the reasurance. I will give it a go!

hey i had the same problems, i wanted to upgrade from softmod with unleashx retail hdd to a new 200 gig, i had same problem i couldnt find my eeprom, so i did what u guys said to do and i installed evox (V+3935) and booted with it, i went to backup, and it said very breifly " Backingup:) ", i rebooted and tried to connect trough ftp and it doesnt let me, i tried changing the ip from static and vise versa but nuthing works, but, i can boot with unleashx and it displays a different ip then evox and i can connect through ftp, but when i am booted in unleashx and i look for eeprom.bin i cant find it. so i am guessing that i have to have xbox booted in evox but i cant seem to connect thorugh ftp when i am , anyoone know why???

all help is greatly appreciated, Thnx in advance

hi,

if you used EVOX to backup your eeprom you will find all the files yo need in the C:\backup\ directory on your XBOX HDD..
Go and copy all those files to your pc and back them up..

Thats what you need.
