ahve downloaded a few games off of the internet using a torrent site. I have taken the winrar files and extracted them into an ISO. I have burned that iso using Nero using 2.4x speed... When I put it in my Xbox the game loads but the screen goes black and never loads.... can anyone give me some suggestions.... before anyone asks... my Xbox is modded...
Thanks

the media depends on what dvd-drive you have in your Xbox

know anyone else with a modded Xbox? maybe see if it will play in their Xbox. also, has that brand of media ever worked before in your Xbox? can you play a DVD burned to the same media?
well just incase you didn't properly extract the ISO:
1. get/use the latest WinRAR from http://www.rarlab.com/ ,older versions can give errors
2. select the first piece which will be either .rar or the lowest numbered
3. when it opens in WinRAR select everythign inside and then hit "Extract To"
4. select a place to save it to and winRAR will automatically open and combine all the pieces.
5. the iso's icon may look like a RAR archive because WinRAR has associated itself with ISO's, but an ISO is not meant for WinRAR and should be associated with a burning program.
it is also recommended to burn at the slowest speed possible although i almost always burn at 4x
so next, identify the type of drive
and here are the media types you should be using:
if you are using the type of media that should work with your Xbox, it can get into the brand type, personally i use the cheapest dvd-r's i can find and have had no problems. but most people say to use the most expensive. i get bulk dvd-r's from TheTechGeek for $.18 a pop and they work great for me, but i have a different drive and all that good stuff, so if possible look for a sample of the media before you go and buy 200 of a brand that you don't know will work. some online stores offer a sample of like 3 disks, so you don't waste your money on 100. or if your in the store, see if they have a small pack of like 3 or 5 disks of the same type instead of just buying the large spindles, until you find a compatible media.... although i have returned an opened spindle to the store before and my only reason was that it was the wrong kind
good luck, not to sure what else to say

if you wanted to copy it the the hdd just use Qwix to extract and ftp the files from the pc. that might be a good idea just to check to see if the game even works

Games from the internet? Would I detect a bit of piracy? I hope not, this site does not support that dark art. This site is under enough heat as is to be supporting such things like using torrents for Pirating. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."
