Hi
Can I use a PC DVD - ROM in my xbox that will not read discs ???
Once modded i will put stock DVD rom back in.
I need to get the SC disc loaded in to softmod it !!!!

You need to use a ORIGINAL SPLINTER CELL GAME and only a OFFICIAL XBOX DVDROM can read original games..
I think you mean you need to get the SOFTMOD files onto a MEMORY CARD first.. Then you can boot the SPLINTERCELL GAME adn choose to install the softmod from the gamesaves area..
if your dvd-drive is toasted, your gonna need a new drive, or i suppose atleast a modchip, then i suppose you could get by with no dvd-drive by installing everything to the hdd via ftp

As soon as I stripped the box I knew It was a daft question !!!
The xbox was finally resurrected after a good clean up.
The dvd rom was filthy it had loads of sticky stuff all over the lens and the mirror was dusty.
This was the same xbox as on my other post the 'dodgy chipped xbox'.
Mate was glad to see it up and running again.
What a service !!
