Hey all, well it finally happened to me. I have finally ran into the infamous, "Error, this game has a filename thats too long" message. I am trying to backup the game, "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban".
I am using PxHDD Loader v1.2a.
I also have DVD2Xbox, but have never even used that program at all except the first day I got my machine I ripped two DVD's.
What are my options here as far as getting this game to work on my HD.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Nevermind...I got it.
All I did was use DVD2Xbox and then Avalaunch to launch the game. So, if anyone else tried using PxHDD Loader to backup the new Harry Potter game, there you have it! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

getting good realmcloy..
Yup DVD2XBOX will rename the long filenames.. But not sure if it patches every game.
I cant get V8 SUPERCARS 2 (pro race driver 2) to work off the HDD yet.. God damn it.. I have to spend more time playing..

Yeah, I read where it actually renames longer files, but that doesn't always guarantee it will work. I found a helpful tutorial on creating your own acl files. It was a little confusing at first glance, but I would imagine with a little more time it would start to make a bit more sense.

Hey bud. The only reason that I need Avalaunch to launch the game was because the EvoX that I wasn't using wasnt' set up correctly from the first modder I ever used.
No games were showing up in the, 'games on hd' section of my menu.
So, I had to use MXM or Avalaunch to list my games since they were installed by me...thus correctly pointing to the right folder.
When you use DVD2Xbox to backup the game to HD just go ahead and store it in your nomal games folder.
Then, check in the "Games on HD" portion of your EvoX menu and see if all of your games are listed, HP should be there. If not, install a new version of EvoX and that should take care of the menu issue. That is what I did, and then I never had to launch an alternative dash again.
If you still want to load Avalaunch, download it and unzip it if it's a .zip or .rar file. FTP it over to your Applications Folder in your F drive.
Reboot your xbox and you should now have Avalaunch.
Let me know if you still have issues.
