Can the 10 gig HDD from my Xbox be used in a PC?, i havent found any discussions about this.
Can anyone clarify??

hi MST3K,
Ok.. Its pretty easy so lets get started...
1. Boot XBOX-HQ AUTOINSTALLER and load 'Config Magic'
2. Unlock your Retail XBOX HDD
3. Put the unlocked Retail XBOX HDD into your pc
4. Use 'FDISK' or another partitioning program.
5. Thats it.. You should no be able to format it ready for your pc.

i have the xbox hq autoinstaller, but no config magic
do i need to rebuild retail hd on v1 system or go to format options for xbox hd? otherwise no ref to config magic at all

ConfigMagic IS on the Auto-Installer.
Check the section for the HDD Management and EEPROM settings (in the main menu in the auto-installer, option 8 or 9 I think), ConfigMagic is there

Well you've already said thankyou so there's not really much more you could say I guess
The main reason this forum is so popular is because all our members try and help out where possible.
I suppose the only real way you could pay us back is just help in the forums where you can, even if you're only 50% certain about something, still say it. It might put the person on the right track or make it easier for a senior member to finish off any points you might have missed..
