Ok newb question, I have looked around but cannot find an answer to this.
I don't guess it is required for AID to work but I have noticed the 100mb and 1gig dummy files and read in posts some ppl use them. What is their purpose?
I haven't got the chance to try AID yet (my box won't read CD-RW's having a friend with a DVD burner to burn it for me when I can get him the ISO) but I want to make sure I don't have to add this dummy file to the ISO b4 I give it to him to burn and waste a trip/DVD.
Thx,

The dummy file is used as like a "buffer" for your iso. It adds a padding to your disc to move the data to the outter edge to make it easier for your xbox dvd drive to read. If you are burning the iso to a dvd I would suggest using the dummy file. _________________ Xbox v1.3

exactly right!
If you dont use a dummy file on a dvd-r the data will be written to the inner part of a dvd-r and the inner part is the slowest turning part of a dvd so load times would be very slow..
Thats why people suggest using them.. The .iso will still work but depending on what dvd-rom drive you are using may determine how long it takes to load..

So I'm guessing the dummy file is useless with the new AIDv2.02? The file is 741mb with just 2.02 installed, the dummy file would push it above standard DVD/CD limits wouldn't it?
