Have opened the beast up & had a look at what is inside. Compared to the guide earlier which identifies the version, it doesn't fit any of the ones described.
It has a nvidia graphics chip I hynix memory chip. I think the closest it relates to is the 1.6b.
I kept the switches the same as when I flashed the X3 & quick pressed the on switch but the XBOX just flashes without booting up fully. I have also pressed the on swith normally & all that does is boots into the normal XBOX setup.

First off, thats the wrong chip, look up and too the right, by the fan and a/v connector. You would most likely have a 1.6b if it has hynix ram.
Did you flash the 1.6 specific BIOS (not just x3-3294) it would be x3_3294_16 or something like that. See if that works ,if not try checking the soldering on pins 13-14 for the video issue, that was my problem with the frag. _________________ XBOX v1.6

I must have looked in the wrong place. I definately didn't look where you have said. I did use the X3_3924 bios but have the X3 3294 v16plus bios upgrade. Should I try that?
How will I know if it has worked?
I will open her up again to have a look for the correct chip.

well, in flashbios, you will see a yellow bar go across the screen, then a green one, then it should say successful and shut down. Turn on your flash protection (just in case) and boot with a quick press of the power.
You will see a "xecuter rox my box" logo (you can change that, but that's later) and then it will go to a screen which would be X3CL. You will see a spinning wireframe "X3" in the backgronud and a shit load of choices up front.
Back up everything first. (Don't touch the backup bios till you are more aware of your chip). Back up the eeprom to the chip, you can ftp into your box, backup your c: and E: dr. also under options there will be a x3 info.txt create line. Do that and copy that as well that is your config with keys to your hdd and things like that.
Then unlock your hard drive if you never plan to go on live, (you can't boot the retail bios) but you will boot the x3 bios and still be able to play. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Thanks, but unfortunately I have loaded the x3 3924 bios & my box is a v1.6b. I have overwritten the flashbios so can't load the X3 3924 v16 bios.
Do you have a solution? All input greatly appreciated.

Don't know what to tell you man, you are going to have to try to do a hotswap, or maybe you can softmod your box, and flash from the evox dash. You can't make careless mistakes with the x3 it is an unforgiving chip.
Also, you can find a friend with a non 1.6b box and mod his up so that you can reflash 3.03 on to yours. _________________ XBOX v1.6
