Hey guys hows it goin? well ive been better im up tryin to fix my xbox at 2 in the morning like i always am...never have had to ask for help though un til tonite. So ive had my xbox softmodded useing softmod install deluxe 3 for about 1 month (works great by the way thanks guys), then i was talkin to one of my friends that has a chipped box last night and he was sayin i should upgrade to 80gigs so i could put more games on my hd...i thought hell, why not its already modded anyway. I knew from reading past disscussions it would be a bitch but i thought i could handle it, so i looked up a totourial and im not gonna explain how it happend cause im not really sure. anyway, i end up sittin here with an xbox that will not even boot to ms dash or evox with origional hd, and of course, i failed to get the needed eeprom file that i backed up with evox before this happend. so the fucker is locked on me, now the key is stored on the drive in the place evox always puts it, and the box will still boot with a retail game in the drive of course. so, heres what im thinkin, boot it up with splinter cell (same game i used to softmod) and create a save and then hotswap to my pc and use a util like FAT-X-Plorer to get to the eeprom file. my thought was that the game unlocked the HD. now its not workin out so far but i wanted to get some options or suggestions from you guys before i go much futher. im runnin bios 1.0 if it matters. thanks yall.

Hi dylansm21,
Since it still boots original games i would just reinstall the Softmod using the SID3 again.. Then you can be sure everything is still left the same.
Just follow the SID3 instructions and reinstall your softmod.
Then use aID2 so you can reinstall the M$ Dashboard etc etc as it explains in the tutorials here:

if you still can get it working here is another tutorial which im sure will help you..
btw.. im no softmod expert either.. Im more of a modchip man myself.. I have however completed 3 softmod installs just recently and am getting the idea now.

3 softmods huh forahobby? heh, ive done abot 70 +, and 0 Chip installs (yeah i know...i suck.) But anyway. If your game boots Retail games, run splinter Cell, and FTP like you said, thats the only way i could see you getting it..

eeprom if you can't boot your
drive.
that is unless you unlocked it
in configmagic (bad move)
A USELESS STOCK HDD IS ALWAYS
BETTER
THAN A USELESS XBOX.
