Alright. This is embarassing. I've installed two X3 chips with no problems soldering all kinds of crap. I have a Xenium ICE chip that I originally used in my box, but I removed it when I got the X3.
Now I want to put it in my brother's box. The thing is, I lost the screw for the solderless adapter, so I have to use the jumper thing instead. No problem. Got that on fine. Then came the wire for the d0 point, and that's what's giving me issues.
From what I can tell, it's a 1.1 box. It has a Thompson drive, but no 2nd fan. Everything else points to it being 1.1.
I got everything in, but when I powered it up, the system turned on briefly, then off. Turned on again, flashing green, then off. Then it turned back on FRAGing.
If I disconnect the d0 wire from the chip, it loads the old BIOS just fine, so I'm guessing it's a problem with that. I've resoldered it several times now, and each time I can't see any problems with my soldering job. It SHOULD work, but it doesn't.
Help?

slick_j_2002... I am shocked.
You of all people can't get the d0 right?
I know that there are tutorials that can really pin down the version of Xbox without running any kind of program.
If you wish, I can try to hunt one up for ya. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Heh heh... Okay, guess I should have looked around a bit first. I was using the wrong point...
Anyway, I got the thing hooked up, but now we have other issues...
It loads to the Xenium screen, but not further. What I'm trying to ask is how do you get it to load to the Xenium 2.0 menu instead of a flashed BIOS? Remember this is an already flashed chip with M8, M7, TSOP and everything on it (though I'll have to redo the TSOP), so it doesn't automatically go to the Xenium menu anymore.
Anyone know the button to push to do this?

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Doesn't do a lick of difference for me, though. Oh well, screw it. I'm just gonna junk the chip and get another X3 for his, too.
Thanks anyway, guys.

Why don't you just download the HDD version of the newest OS 2.3.0 (make sure you download the (restore to factory version) and it will wipe out all your old flashed bios' and prefs..
then you can start anew.
Just burn the disk, and then flip the switch on the Xenium Ice recovery. Mount the chip and let nature do the rest _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
