I just installed an Xecuter 2.6 CE Lite on my v1.3 Xbox. When I turned on my XBOX with the chip enabled I got the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 screen.
I did a flash on bank 1 to the 4981.06_256k.bin bios. It seemed to have flashed okay. When I rebooted it I got a frag.
I can switch to bank to and still get the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 screen and if I turn off the chip I can still boot to my HD.
Before I try to flash to bank 2 (and possibly screw it up) What did I do wrong to get the FRAG?

You may have a corrupt bios. I would try grabbing up X2 4983 bios, and make sure if you have a 256k bios that you have your switch settings to a 256k bank. The X2.6 and X3 chips have stupid flashing/bank config process. I'll give that a try, if things go bad can I recover from it by using a programmer?
As for bank 1, is it toast unless I get a programmer?

you dont need a programer if you still have the flashbios on bank 2.
all you need to do is take the x2 4983 bios.bin and the xecuter flashbios v3.01 or 3.03 .bin and use the together and make a 1mb bios.bin.
you can do this easy by using the x2bm (xecuter 2 bios manager).
** making a 1mb bios with a 512k x2 4983 on the first bank and a 512k xecuter fb v3.01 or 3.03 on the second bank is the best/safest way (in my opinion) to flash your bios. **

Sorry for being such a noobie... Where would I go to download a 512K x2 4983 bios.bin and 512K xecuter flashbios 3.01/3.bin??? I went to XBINS but I could only find 256K versions of both?

you can use x2bm to make your own bios.bin.
here is an example on what you should see when making a 1mb bios.bin with x2 4983 on bank1 and fb 3.03 on bank2:
