Just make sure what version xbox you have before you do anything bios related. The wrong bios will cause damage to the box. You can use the Evox m8 or a xecutor2 bios like the 5031 or 5028 or 5032.. Here is a link to identify what version xbox you have

Here are the bios' I flash to all of my SmartXX mod chips based on what version Xbox I have. I flash these to both V2 and LT OPX SmartXX chips.

1.6b Xbox - M8plus_16
1.6 Xbox - M8_16
1.0-1.5 Xbox Versions - X2 4983 bios, but have been toying with X2 5031 lately...pretty cool.

I hope that info combined with the other posts helps you.

How is the LT OPX Mod, I want to get one for my Xlive box for the day finally comes when 360 takes over. I want a cheaper chip, I have the X3 already, i don't need anything too glam.

I love the LT OPX chip....but the install on the 1.6's are touch and go. For a sub 30.00 chip, it's incredible. I wrote a review in our hardware section.

The LT OPX was designed to be a quick solder chip on the 1.6 machines. You actually solder the chip on the underside of the motherboard. It handles chip and LPC rebuild all in one install. Only 8 solder points to hit. But, what I have noticed is the chip is machined poorly. You end up with little pieces of metal shavings that you have to make sure you move out of the way.

Also, some of the points on the chip are bare in the center which doesn't give you much to solder to. Some people just use the pin header method and do a regular LPC rebuild, and a lot of people have been doing make-shift wire installs.

I have a pretty good method of doing the quick solder. I have had a few frag on me after 12 hours or so use. Basically, after heating and cooling a few times the chip moves a little and I have to reheat the solder points.

What I have done to combat this is prep the solder point on the motherboard first with a little bit of solder. Then, When I lay the chip down into place I tape it down and add a little solder to the points on the chip and let it join the already prepped area on the mobo.

I make sure I run the machines for several hours, turn them off for a few hours, and then on again before I ship to my customers just to make sure they are okay. Pin header installs are flawless though. However, if you are going to do pin header install on a 1.6 make sure you rip off the little RD0 tab otherwise your xbox DVD Tray will not eject...

Personally, I have only used the quick solder on the 1.6's and I have done a ton of these machines. Have not had one come back on me after I did my little prep first.

Before that I actually had two machines frag on people days after they received and used. All I had to do was hit the points again and they have been fine since. But, like I said, on the ones that I prep they never go bad.

I sell the LT OPX chip 4 to 1 against all my other chips combined. It's a great seller for me since it's so reasonable in price. Lately I have been getting more Xenium Ice orders, but LT OPX is still my biggest premod seller.
