Posted: Sun May 01, 2005 5:02 pm Post subject: Xbox Freezes opening softmod savegame
I have Splinter Cell original and i'm using my memory card to transfer the modding files. I copied them successfuly to my hard drive but when I try to load the gamesave in Splinter Cell, on the account menu, it says Controller configuration "bad type" difficulty "hard". I pick the linux game save and click on Levels/Checkpoints and the xbox just freezes until I turn it off. I've let it go on for about 10 mins before turning it off. If i keep pressing the buttons in frustration, I think it's the A button, the screen gets a whitewash of white colour, like as if a blanket of white has been put on top of the original screen and it stays like tht for eva. Can anyone help? I'm new to softmodding.
I'm using:
Splinter Cell original
Xbox bought in December 2002, Pal version, made in Hungary
Xploder 8mb Memory card & Action Replay software
When I try it on checkpoints, it freezes as well and nothing comes up

It could be one of two things then:
1) Your Splinter Cell Game (which is unlikely)
2) Your Memory Card (which is likely)
I always recommend if you are going to use a memory card to use an official xbox one, the 3rd party cards have been known to be trouble.
Alternatively, you can look into buying a Mega X-Key, which is a 32mb USB Stick / Memory Card. I fully recommend this as I have one myself, and came quite handy in testing.
