hi everyone. i am getting a xenium spice chip friday and im just wondering what the next step is after i install it? if i get the auto installer deluxe that you are offering will that give me the software i need to make everything work like bios,ftp,dashboard etc.forgive me,but i am VERY new to the mod chip thing. i have been reading alot of stuff and am getting there but... i think im frazzled.lol. im thinking i should become a vip? probably agood idea right? thanx alot

First thing you do is install the chip.
After that, best to keep your stock HD in and keep the lid off the machine.
Now, setup your retail kernel.
To do this boot your Xbox. You should come to the XOS (Xenium Operating System) screen. First thing you want to do is select "Launch Items". Now, you select "Add Item". Then, select, "TSOP". A keyboard will pop up on the screen with the words "Retail Kernel". Just select done. Next you will have to select what color you want the Xenium Ice LED to be when you are using the MS bios. Just select a color that suits you.
Now it's time to flash your mod chip. I would still do this with the retail HD in.
You can flash your Xenium Ice one of three ways. First, you can create a bios CD and do it from the Xbox DVD drive. Or, you can connect your Xbox to your home network and Flash via a web browswer, or FTP the bios to the Xbox HD (another reason to keep the original in).
I have posted info on flashing this chip so feel free to check out the tutorials I made.
If flashing via CD, put the CD in the Xbox while still at the XOS screen. Select launch items again, select add item again, but this time select FLASH.
You should get the drive listings, C, D, E, X, Y, Z.
D is the Dvd Drive that you put the CD in. Select that. Scroll down and select your bios (you need a 256k bios)
Once it's done flashing, now you can pop AID in . But first, turn off the machine and install a larger HD if you are doing so.
Once AID is in, go to Launch Items again and this time you should see two items listed
Retail Kernel - A
"Name of your hacked bios"
Select you hacked bios and that will boot the installer. First thing you want to do is let it format your HD. It will ask you if you want to format a G drive. That depends on two things, the size of the drive and what bios you flashed to the chip.
After you are done, prepare your F drive.
Next, install MS dashboard.
Next install hacked dashboard
Next install applications
Next install emulators if you want.
Viola, your done.
DJB created a manual for AID, I suggest taking a read. It will really help.

hi there. thank you very much for the reply. i appreciate all the help i can get.
what if i'm not installing a new hard drive? doi just skip the format hd part?
when i download auto install to my computer,do i then burn it to disk or do i just pick what ineed from my computer and transfer to my xbox that way? thanx

You will have to burn it to a disk- no ftp'ing it over

You will not have to format your HD, but you should still prepare your E drive.
Actually, you could FTP the applications that you would want, but you would first have to extract the files from the .iso and that really isn't a lot of work once you extract, you have to build the folders to the proper area and then FTP the proper apps to the built folders..
the AI does all that crap for you. Much easier to download, burn, and install.
But, remember, prepare your E drive.
Using the AI just go to Format/Prepare HD
Scroll down to Prepare E drive only.
Viola. Now you can install.
