I bought my first chip from there as well last December and it seems to be real.
I just purchased another chip from there for my friend, days ago, because I feared of getting a fake chip so I purchased from the same seller that sold me a real chip yes? and also states its a 'official reseller'
Sorry for the quality of the pic (camera phone) but mine has all orginal marks and fonts. Yet the 'fake' one has www.TeamXodus.com exactly like the font its typed in, while mine looks authentic, www.ozXodus.com font. The 'fake' is really white, while the real one is off-white. The 'fake' seems to have plastic/clear coat over the tracks looking un-useable, while the real looks like real tracks. Also, the real has (MT) in the circle, with (01) underneath it, while the 'fake' has a fake looking stamp with cheap ink that just says (MT) and towards the bottom of the chip where there is the indention that is 'rounded' of, the 'fake' one is squared off.
Other than that, the LED, solderpoints and holes and other marks are right on. One more thing, the 'fake' has numbers....0447 04 about XENIUM on the back of the chip
The chip, although lit up, FAILED to perform. I reformated, played with the d0, every possible thing to get the chip to perform and it FAILED. Sure enough, when I plugged my chip into his xbox, it performed perfectly. As his chip in mine, gave me error 16 everytime.
What should I do? I believe this is a clone.

And these assholes just emailed me trying to get me to buy my Xeniums from them (I buy only from BMMods.com)
No wonder they were beating the price by 6.00 per chip!!! That is definitely a fake as far as I can see with those pics..
Did it come with the Xease kit?? Just curious if they are bold enough to sell them without the USB adapter, external LED, and wiring harness.
You should try to switch your chip for his just to see if yours works in his machine. I would email them though and tell them that you received a clone and want a refund, then buy from www.bmmods.com , as a matter of fact, I'll sell you one for $42.00 plus shipping and guarantee you it's not a clone. Or, you can buy from bmmods.com at $49.99 which is where I get mine but I get discount because of the volume I pay.
Also, please, nobody else ask me to sell the chips at this price. I do not sell chips and am only doing this to help out someone on the forum. I dont' make money on chips so there's no real point in me selling them.

Thanks themodgod, I will by from you. I posted a help ticket and its been up for 14hrs unanswered, and FAILED to reply to my email that I sent! That just does not sound right though. I will make a claim through paypal? since I guess its obvious that I can't get themselves to contact me.

also the chip was sent with the entire solderless package and all. That is what made me re-think the 'fake' conclusion.

Well, that particular site is very slow in response to questions and such...a main reason I dont' deal with them.
Sometimes, they will buy the x-ease kits in bulk from people ( I sell the ones I don't use to people in lots of 20 at a time) so they can incorporate the actual X-ease kits with the clones.
But, when you have two chips that are supposed to be the same look totally different....one of them is certainly a fake. I have been installing Xenium Ice ships for quite some time now and have not ran across two that look different. It even looks like the fake one doesn't have that blue circle on it..you know that think that looks like a stamp of some sort?
Just email me at sales@themodgod.com and I'll get you a chip at my cost plus shipping.
take it easy, I hope you get your money back. But, disputing is definitely what I would do.
Also, go to www.resellerratings.com and post a review. They have been sending out emails begging people to post reviews because they have gotten some bad publicity as of late. I am just so glad I didn't take him up on his offer of buying my next batch of Xeniums.
Normally I do not sell chips, so I am only doing this as a favor... I hate seeing people get ripped.

You know what, I wasn't thinking of the age of your first chip. How old is your first chip??
The fuzziness sorta looks like the one chip says TeamOzxodus not Team Xodus...which would be okay since they changed that about three to four months ago.
It is most likely the reason why the chips look so different.
The new one should say TeamXodus
Ozxodus or Oxzodus whatever they were called left the development team a few months ago so their name no longer appears on the chips.
I didn't even see those links you posted in your first post...lol. I guess I should pay more attention... I hate how links are black against this gray background.. My old eyes miss them...HA
