Hi, I have a spider chip installed in my xbox and have the evox auto installer. I installed everything on the original hdd and now want to put in my 160gb one in.
I turn my xbox off with the auto installer disc in and swap hdd then turn on and it flashes up on screen that it needs servicing.
What do I need to do?? P.S. I have tried flashing and it won't work for me so would rather avoid that route thanks.

For whatever reason your Xbox isn't booting the disk with the new HD in. It's trying to boot a dashboard, and since you have a blank HD in there, you get the errors.
What bios do you have flashed to the mod chip?
What is your boot procedure for the spiderchip. You should be able to boot your Xbox two ways. Boot with chip enabled, boot with chip disabled. To boot the installer disk, you must boot with the hacked bios running (mod chip enabled)

I am having similar issues with a spider chip and a WD120. It boots fine
with the stock drive. Boot up with AID, or, insert later, reads no problem.
Disconnect the stock drive, connect the new 120 and try to boot with the
WD and AID in drive and get error 21. Drive is unlocked, and, has been
working on another modded Xbox. It will boot with a SmartXX CD, but,
after going through the setup screen, it ends up with a grey screen with
an "X" that can be moved around with the controller, but, won't do anything
else.
Using Evox m8+ bios. With stock drive, it boots up with the Evox
Triangle, and, on and off work fine. Just can't get it to get along with the
WD 120. Any suggestions?
BTW, it is a 1.0 MB

Is everyone using the newest installer?
I know the first AID 1.0 had issues running on blank HDs due to the intro.
But AID 1.0.1 gives me no problems with blank HDs regardless of the bios or chip. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I am using bios Evox m8+ bios. Like the other bloke, works fine with stock drive installed but as soon as I put in blank drive it loads up with error. I have checked the chip is in the on position and does work. Do I need a later auto installer?? I think it is the V1.0 or V1.01 can't remember at mo. Will slayers 2.5 work??
Thanks
