I softmodded one box fine with normal harddrive. then I put in new big hard drive in modded box. I think I unlocked it while putting evo x on it when I had it in my modded box. I took it out without installing anything on it and put in new box. got error 16. Now modded box won't read any space on it so I can't install evox or anything. Tried locking it, unlocking it several times but no good. Hooked it up to pc and it won't read it in windows. Ran a hard drive utility to check but got multiple errors. Is there anyway at all to fix this? modded box is 1.6, softmod box is 1.0. Aladdin Advanced chip in modded box. Let me know if that info is too vague. Sorry if I sound like i'm 11 but I'm extremely tired.

Did you put the drive back in the modded xbox and try to reformat? I hope that your drive can be saved. Good luck.

you can try to hook the hd back to the modded xbox with chip and use AID to reformat it .
did you make a eeprom backup of the softmodded xbox? if not do this !!!
Because a softmodded xbox needs a locked hd and you will need to lock the bigger hd using your softmodded eeprom .

Thanks for all the info guys, I'm really frustrated with it all so I'm just putting it down for a little bit, I got my friends box modded, so its all good, he can take it with him now. Meanwhile, does anyone know how to flash a softmodded xbox so it will read a 200 gig drive? I'll post results once I get em here.

what i do is :
First make a eeprom backup on your chip xbox (using evox)
Store this on your pc (ftp)
after that make one from the softmodded xbox (same way as above)
store it also on your pc
put the new 200gb hd in your chip xbox and make the disk ready (slayer or aid)
Now install configmagic on it and put the eeprom from softmodded xbox in the data dir and upload all this to the new hd in your chipped xbox.
run configmagic and do update this xbox eeprom ( so this xbox will have same eeprom as the softmodded one)
when this is done you can lock the hd (because now they have same eeprom)
Ok now it's locked and you can place the hd in the softmodded xbox.
run it and voila it works
Now if you play xbox live you can restore your chipped xbox eeprom by uploading configmagic to it and put the backup eeprom in the data dir.
Run update this xbox eeprom .
now the eeprom is restored
