Here is the best way to deal with your game saves.
I use Xbox Save Manager 4.5, it's awesome.
Just install it and then put in your xbox ip address. Hit connect and it will automatically find your saves. Then, highlight the saves you want and hit the arrow to put them to your PC Hard Drive. It will save them to your PC for you.
Or, if you downloaded someone elses saves, you can do the opposite. Take right from your PC to the Xbox HD. Very sweet, very easy! No figuring out what numbers go where...it's awesome.
I use it whenver I have a customers machine and they are updating the HD. I take all their gamesaves and transfer to the new HD that way.
