I've gotten my spiderchip installed on a 1.6 xbox, and flashed it with Evox M8 16. However I can't get any farther than that. The xbox wont read any of the cdr/cdrw that I put in. Im trying to load either of the autoinstallers, or even just an evox dash, but none of the burned cds will work. My box has a samsung cd drive, and Ive burned the iso's with nero 6. Unfortunately I have yet to purchase a dvd burner, so dvd-r/rw is not an option at the moment. I had to connect the hdd to my computer and read it with Fatbox Explorer to transfer over the evox m8 bios, so I could flash it. Is there any way I can do something like that to load the autoinstallers? Or maybe connect through a crossover network cable and use an ftp program to transfer the files? Will ftp work without a dashboard loaded? I only have the evox bios loaded, and the original hdd installed. I plan to upgrade the hdd soon, but I don't have a spare right now. Should I wait until then? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if you can put files on your harddrive using fatbox then you can just
put the dashboard and applications on there ,

put the dashboard files on c:\ rename your dash xbe to evoxdash.xbe

you can also manually put apps on your e:\ ..e:\Apps\

you might also need to edit your dash config file to make sure it sees
the apps you put on e:\

Thanks, Ill give it a try. Unfortunately I dont see any driives on Fatbox only directories and files. Maybe there are none? Or I need a better program to view them? Any suggestions, because Fatbox is difficult to use because it is in another language. and it doesn't seem to have many features.

I don't know if you've ever used the Fatbox Viewer, but the version I have doesn't display the partitions, only the folders System, Cache, and some others that I can't remember. I also created a Bios folder in the System folder and copied the evox bios to it so I could flash the chip, since my recorded media isn't working. My step brother has a dvd burner, so I'm gonna give that a try in the morning with the autoinstaller deluxe. Hopefully that works, but if not, I'll need to copy the stuff over. Do you know of any other programs that read the xbox hdd from a pc other than Fatbox?

hi KingArthur,

Just a tip.. Try download DVDDecrypter off the internet (its free) and then use DVDDecrypter to burn the .iso file..

Make sure you are trying to burn the .iso file and not the .zip/rar file.
I used to have problems with Nero Sometimes not burning it properly and used DVDDecrypter and worked first go.

I know it sounds strange but just speaking from personal expereince.

If its not that then you just havent found the media (CDRW) that your xbox drive likes readin.

cheers,

forahobby
