Hello all,

Currently, I'm using 7-zip. I cannot unarchive files (from xbox-hq bittorent) with format such as file.001, file.002, file.003. I was able to unarchive other file formats such as rar. Please recommend a free/shareware unzip software that I can use for the mentioned format.

FYI. I experimented with UNIX tools called split and "cat file.* > output.bin". Split utility also splits files into file.001, file.002 format. If split is the answer for the mentioned format, how do I convert the combined binary file into an iso?

Many thanks
Yakin

I assume that they aren't zipped but Rar'd and if so Winrar will get you started. It has a free trial and with work, you might find an unlock key out there too. But it's better to support the developers when you can.

Thank you, Shark2th and funkydopeloven. I will try winrar.

I will also search for a freeware. Maybe, freeware such as 7-zip can take care of the mentioned format in the future.

you can download winrar (from my previuos post Smile) everytime the evaluation period runs out. just uninstall and re-download (or save the installer to your computer so you don't have to re-download after 30 days) hell actually i think it might still be useable after the 30 days

it is usable after the period, ... but u have to deal with the the constant reminder. Also you are using a technology that someone else worked hard to develope. You might as well pay it, if you have it to give.

p.s.
I am a programmer

yea i was in school for programming and we got into the discussion on pirating and how we as programmers should detest it as when we get into it, are we going to want people stealing the programs we worked so hard on? but i like free stuff!!! but i guess it comes down to the honest people, that do pay. i for one don't plan on paying for anything i can get for free. but i am drunk..... anyways....i don't know...i am a pirate ARRRgghhh
