I really need help here. I'm not really a newb to X-Box modding or anything of this sort. But what I am a newb to is playing games on my X-Box that arent USA games/ NTSC-U. Im using the m8 bios and the Xbox-HQ Auto Installer Dashboard. Since I'm using this sites dashboard I figure this site should be able to help me. Isn't the basic point of a mod-chip to allow you to play games of all regions? So why is it when I put my copy of Metal Wolf Chaos (NTSC-J game) into the X-Box it just takes me to the Dash? So many people talk about playing their Jap backups on the internet as if all they had to do was pop it in and thats it. But there must be more to it because it wont play! The Dash says "game" so atleast it knows it's there... For quite awhile I've just ignored the fact that all of my PAL & NTSC-J games refuse to play, but I REALLY REALLY want to play Metal Wolf Chaos!!!! Can someone help me? PLEASE!

I think I just did something very bad....
Ok so I went to the Dashs' setting and I changed the settings for the game's video from NTSC-U to NTSC-J. I memorized how many downs to push on the controller and when to press A and all that because I've heard of people doing this and then their X-Box boots with a blank screen. Ok but that's not what mine did... now its just fragging out... I turn it on and it just starts and then stops and then starts and then stops and ohhhh noooo..... Possibly if I re-flash my chips bios? Is there ANY WAY to fix this???? I've had bios do this to me b4 where all of a sudden they just decide they don't want to work anymore... maybe this is the problem, if it isn't does anyone else have any suggestions? Oh, and the problem from my first post is still an issue, once this thing is fixed i'd still really like to know how to do it.

Hiya
First of all which dashboard is it? If it is evox then it would not have done that on it's own, if it was something like avalaunch then you may have buggered up your eeprom, in which case you may need a new one.
Yes you can just put the jap games in, but some require patches etc, and some require video mode changes in evox etc

Ok ok, that is EXACTLY what im talking about. Where would I get such patches and what changes would I need to make to evox?

Go into evox system settings, and play with the video region, there is only one setting to change.
As far as patches go, it depends on the game, bit torrent sites are prob ur best bet.
