After 23 years of building, maintaining, and pouring myself into this community, I never imagined I'd be writing a message like this. But life has taken a turn I didn’t see coming. I’ve been laid off right before Christmas, and finding new work has been harder than I ever expected. The reality is hitting fast - I may lose my home, and with that, I can no longer afford to keep XBOX-HQ online.
This site has been a huge part of my life for more than two decades. It’s been a place for friendships, late‑night chats, shared discoveries, and a passion that connected all of us. I truly hope you felt the same sense of belonging and excitement that kept me going all these years.
I do have a full backup, but unless something changes - a new job, some stability, a bit of luck - I simply can’t keep the servers running. As things stand, XBOX-HQ will likely go offline early in January 2026 when I can no longer cover the hosting costs.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, supported, and helped shape this place into what it became. I wish I had better news. I wish I could promise a return. But right now, I just don’t know. Time will tell.
If someone truly wants to carry this legacy forward, I’m open to selling the network. I can’t give it away - I need the financial support right now - but I’m willing to talk with anyone who values what this place has meant.

Thank you for everything you've done for this community.
It's unfortunate that things have to end like this, and I know how hard this is for you too.
I remember when we both first started out with this site, and how huge it's grown, it's a chapter of my life that will always have fond memories for me.
If I was in a better financial position I would even consider taking ownership myself, but I have a good idea on how much it costs to keep the HQ Network running, and unfortunately I dont think its something I could keep on long-term.
The most important thing to remember is all the friends you've made through this over the decades you've done this, hopefully these friends will still be around for you.
If you ever need to talk I'm always here for you brother <3

Extremely sad news indeed; sorry to hear about the circumstances leading to this decision too.
A significant loss to the, still very active, Xbox using community.

If you are willing to keep it going I can provide the hosting.

I'm very sorry to hear that you are going through a rough patch. I'm hoping that things will turn around for the better in 2026 so you can regain some stability. You've got your priorities in the right place. Worry about getting yourself on stable ground before this website as hard as that is to admit for something you've poured so much time into.
Thanks for all the work you've put in over the years keeping Xbox-hq alive. I have many good memories from posting on this site. It was a constant in my teen years where I found a love for technology and met a lot of cool people along the way. Without Xbox modding and Xbox-hq, I don't know if my life would have turned out the way that it did. Coming back here reminds me of what the internet used to be like with forums.
If this the end, best to everyone I interacted with other the years. Especially you Hobbs. You were always kind and gracious with your time. _________________
