I've read that the only way to use the Xenium Solderless on an xbox 1.6 is to rewire the LPC holes to other points on the board. I was wondering if this is the only way or is there any updated info for installation without the need for the re-wiring.

You can buy a LPC rebuild PCB, but it still involves soldering. There's a few PCB LPC rebuilds out there for various chips. The easiest one I have used is for the Xenium Ice and SmartXX.
But, the PCB's still involve a little soldering, but no wires.

Thanks again for your help Realmccloy. My friend had a 1.6 and soldering is out of the question for me but I did find this Spider solderless chip for the 1.6 and all the older models. Looks pretty easy to install and thanks to all your previous help the software install should be a breeze.
Realmccloy, have you heard anything on this Spider solderless chip? If you have any opinions on this chip please post them, thanks.

Actually it's so new that I haven't had a chance to do much research. That combined with the fact that I only use the soldering method when I do installs Since I don't sell chips on my site and only sell premods I dont have any need for solderless knowledge. I still like to get an idea about products though, so I am sure I'll take a look at it soon. Right now, I just really haven't had the time.
