I have a Xenium ICE with the USB adapter plugged in, but I don't know how to setup the mouse and keyboard. I imagine I'll need a hub to connect both simultaneously, but is there specific software I need to get the keyboard and mouse to run?

Also, can I use a wireless mouse and keyboard if it has software that needs installed to the system? Is there any way around needing the software?

Also, how about a program that lets you use a USB webcam? Doesn't sound very likely, but hey... gotta give it a whirl, eh?

All of that is definitely possible. Unfortunately, I have never messed around with that kind of stuff. Hopefully some of our other members have.

I would imagine the webcam would be a XBMC feature maybe somehow...dunno about the others, but I bet Linux would help.

Hrmm... There aren't any obvious settings in XBMC (such as "Turn on Keyboard" Laughing ) that I can guess would help me out, and I don't have the foggiest idea how to use Linux, but I appreciate any and all help I get.

I am kinda surprised though, for as many ICEs that are out there, that I haven't seen any info at all on how to get a device working...

If I felt like hunting down Mario Paint for SNES, I'd check and see if I could get the mouse working there, but... I'm so lazy... Wink

OK,

If your using linux pretty much any mouse and keyboard will do as the linux distro will have its own mouse and keyboard drivers.

XBMC, Avalaunch etc use the XBOX kernel USB drivers, which means that your limited to mouse and keyboard, the only way you could use devices that dont support the xbox drivers is to recompile the source code of the app you wish to use with compatible drivers. So thats not really practical unless you have a lot of time on your hands.

XBOX USB Drivers supports
Microsoft (Suprise Suprise) Mice (none of the fancy ones mind), the basic variety and Logitech Basic Mice, i dont know of any cordless mice that are supported at this time.
Keyboard wise you have a choice of a Microsoft Natural keyboard or a HP multimedia Keyboard, but actually ive got a non branded USB keyboard working, its kind of suck it and see im afraid. Alos the a Model CPQ175KB (COMPAQ) cordless keyboard works (not the mouse attached to it).

A usb Hub should work fine, but you have 4 USB controller ports on your xbox already so may be cheaper just buying/making a cable adapter.

You can use your USB webcam with Linux, dont know what youd want to use it for, or maybe i just dont want to think about it.

^^^ Laughing

Actually, it's just the only USB device I own other than the wireless mouse/keyboard crap combo (I don't even use them for my PC they're so crapful).

I'll check into the mouse app since I don't have Halo2 yet (I know, I know), and thanks for all the info. You guys really know your stuff.
