Just to make sure I understand this correctly, if I burn the AID .iso disc and boot to that disk AFTER doing the SID, it will get everything on the xbox I need to run xbmc and such. FTP however is the alternative manual way of getting the xbox running xbmc, correct?
I ask because I've sucessfully done SID 5.01 via splinter cell, but now my .iso burn of AID 4.3 isnt recognized by my box. So i figured I could just go in manually by FTP and get it running.
Thanks fellas.
btw, when the little screensaver kicks in on the xbox in the unleashx dash, the text bouncing around the tv says SID 3.1 Final. But I thought I had installed SID 5.01. Is that a mistake?

Hey man.
Yeah, thats correct. You pop the AID .iso in and it'll install all the apps etc. If your Xbox isn't reading the disc, trying burning at the slowest speed possible and also consider adding a dummy file, to increase the disc size and make it easier to read. (tut's on that can be found in the Tutorials section).
As for the screensaver, thats fine. SID 5 is built up from 3, I don't think the screensaver has been altered since then. Nothing to worry about.
Great. I also read around about using a different brand of DVD-r, so Ill give that a shot. I did include the 1 gig addon and burned it at the slowest speed. hopefully a different brand will work.
lastly, i rebuilt the iso to include the addons. as far as the rom addon for the emulators, i dont have that addon for AID, but i have a library of roms of my own. if i want to use my own personal collection of roms, where do i copy them onto the xbox, or can i just setup the emulator to go out to my network and play the roms off the network?
that should take care of it all for me. thanks to all for the help.

You can point the emu to a network location, run them from disk or install them to the rom folder of the emu they go to.
Final post for any others that may have had the same problem as I. My Verbatim DVD+R did not seem to work on the xbox. So i bought Sony DVD-R and that brand worked without any problems. So change your DVD media brand if you're having this problem too.
