So i got a moded xbox from a freind in a trade cool!
1 problem i cant get it too read original not burned xbox games T_T...
it just saysdvd tray empty it did the same thing with a .avi burned movie but i dont car about that. it has dvd 2 xbox and a few other apps but none could see the game. however it wil play movies all nite long.
i dont know much about it i knw that the screen saver says x-b.i.t. and it say ind-bios when booting. so i assume thats the chip and ios but it does not have the usb connection on the back...so its probably and older chip.
any help would be great also it has a password on the format menu and i was wondering if there is a way around that thanks all.

Sounds like a bad DVD drive. That happens to alot of drives. you have 3 options.
1 replace dvd. If you have put one in a pc you can put one in xbox. Same 2 wires.
2. just ftp stuff to hdd (if it has a larger hdd).
3. Use a streaming media player off a pc. Movies and music will stream but NOT games.

ill try that when i can get my hands on it, the guy i bought it from said it has a new drive in it mayb ehe put a bad one in though.

Try to open and close door fast. That helped on my older drive. If your using BURNED games it could be the brand of dvd-r. Some drives dont liek certain brands. If its having trouble reading MS disks my feeling is drive related.
