i am planning on soft modding my xbox this weekend, i have read many tutorials, watched instructions on youtube, and read the manual that come with aid. i have the materials i need to get the job done, and im confident that i can get this done without any problems, but i do have a few questions.
1. when burning the aideluxe iso, do i need to update it using the updater? or can i just use the iso that was premade and came with my version? will that just give me a vanilla plain install with default applications?
2. also with all the tutorials, and videos ive seen. they seem to cover just using sid. what do i do with the aid iso ive burned, and how do i use it?

Hey man, welcome to the site.
Ok here we go:
1. You do not have to use the aidupdater if you do not wish. AID will run just fine and install the apps without it having to be updated first. the updater just includes a few extra skin packs and stuff like that.
2. Ok, the differences between SID and AID. SID is what you will use to softmod your box. It stands for Softmod Installer Deluxe. It runs and installs the dashboard from the game save exploits. AID is what you run after SID has completed installing. It stands for Auto Installer Deluxe and it is the bit that installs all the applications, emu's etc.
