yes it can and you came to the right place. I have an xbox v1.6 and i've modded it succesfully even after other sites said it was impossible. first you need either splinter cell, mech assault, or 007:auf (original ver.) and a ver. of SID, 5.0 i believe is the latest. follow the manual that comes with it ( it's real simple) and your on your way. any more questions don't hesitate to ask everyone on this site are very helpful. goodluck
