HELP!!!!!
I've been out of the mod scene for a long time but I though I would give it a try on my 360. I bought a Blaster 360NE and the install went smoothly. I was able to turn on my 360 and play originals with no problem. On to the flashing... My DVD drive was a GDR-3120L with a 00046k firmware. I set the Blaster 360 to on and Mode B and plugged a SATA cable directly from my mobo to the blaster 360 and powered it up. To my surprise, my PC recognized it right away and assigned it a drive letter. If I selected the drive in windows explorer and selected eject the dvd drive in the xbox would pop out. Next I flashed the firmware following the instructions included in the iXtreme file and there were no errors at all. However, when I hooked the 360 back up to my TV before I even put a disk in I get an open tray error. I tried getting it to play both originals and backups and neither would work. With an original it takes me to a screen that tells me to place this disk in a Xbox 360 console. Discouraged at this point I tried flashing the original firmware back to the 360 and this time it failed. I am still getting the damn Open tray error. Researching online about the problem it seemed that other people that had this error fixed it by replacing their DVD drive. Thinking thats what I needed to, I bought a brand new Samsung H943 w/ ms28 firmware from eBay. It arrived last night and I installed it, booted up my 360, and BAM still the same damn open tray error. I then tried removing the Blaster 360NE thinking that maybe that there were some bad cables or something causing an issue. I was also going to try flashing the Samsung drive but the sata cable on my MOBO won't read this drive. I am assuming I will need to by a VIA chipset PCI SATA card. Can anyone please point me in the right direction on how to get this 360 working again?
