It was thanks to aid 4.10lite and this forum that i sucessfully hard chipped and got xbmc running on my xbox.
I am in the process of downloading the 4.12 update pack and some skin packs. When using the burnt disc will it give me the option of updating xbmc and installing any skin packs or will it delete the old xbmc and install with the new updated version.
Sorry for the basic question but want to make sure i do this right and not risk any errors.

The disc will overwright the old xbmc on your xbox.
If your just trying to update the skins you can unzip them and ftp them in.
If you want a more up to date XBMC you can use the link under my sig to get the XBMC SVN builds, It works with all the skins from 4.12.

Is there any reason for having 4.1 and 4.12? I just want 4.12 for the PM III se skin. 4.1 has everything I need. I guess I'll just look around once it's finished DL-ing. _________________

Just put your aid 4.10 iso on your desk top and use the aidupdater tool to the 4.10 iso and the 4.12 addons you want and it adds the 4.12 files to the iso for you.
Yeah BGB the svn build found under my sig is the most up to date and is updated every two weeks or so.
Im running the new build now with the XTV skin and love it.
XTV just needs to put the power options on the main screen and it wold be mint.

Had a look at your svn tutorial and wondered about the following point.
Launch a diffrent dash like Avalaunch, evox, or Unleash-x and go to your file manager.
Use your file manager to delete the old XBMC folder and then rename XBMC2 to XBMC.
You will not be able to rename XBMC2 to XBMC untill you delete the old XBMC folder.
Done reboot and enjoy.
I only have xbmc dash installed and was wondering if i could just use my ftp program to delete the old xbmc folder then rename xbmc2.
Thanks BGB

If you put in the aid disc and use the filemanager in there but if your running the xbmc you cant delete the folder.
Its a good idea to install a backup dash incase something gose wrong you can add xselect and boot to the backup dash if your xbmc wont boot.

Put a backup dash on just incase and updated with the svn build and even d/l the xtv skin.
It does look really neat. The only problem i found was in the settings menu some of the writing was off the left hand side of the screen.
I reckon my next step will be to make the xbox wireless as currently i use a crossover cable to ftp my files.
Thanks again for your help.

In the xbmc settings you can find options to move the screen into place, wireless is not realy the best way to go it takes longer to ftp files and you cant use kai on a wireless setup.

Yeah I recently learned that, I have my xbox linked up to my laptop, and was trying to link to kai wirelessly. I doesn't work. That really sucks for me. Lol
And thanks wes you answered yet another question for, about using the aid updates.

If you use a wireless router that can run ddrt or thibor firmware you can run kai without a pc at all.
