Sweet.
I copied a different version of the linux installer with my action replay and got back into unleashx installer dash. So I told it to install the softmod and then install UnleashX to E. I may be good to go now. We'll see.

SHIT
So after I did that, I tried to pull the splinter cell disc out to reboot into UnleashX. When I hit the open button, it started to open and then closed again and started flashing red led's. Then it gave me a screen that says this:
Code:
Your Xbox requires service. Please call Xbox Customer Support.
It also has "13" shown up in the upper left. I turned off the console and turned it back on and got the same screen.
At this point, is my only option to pull the hard drive and try to recover the way you mentioned before?
/sigh.

Your main dash is gone (error 13) so if you can get it to take the aid disc again and just put the msdash back in you should be good to go.

It won't take the AID disc. It just immediately goes to the error screen.

Yes. It just goes straight to the error screen with any disc, whether it's an Xbox game or AID.

Wes,
I haven't tried hotswapping yet. Been kinda busy. Just thought I would ask. Would it be better for me to just buy a mod-chip at this point than to try to muck with the soft-modding? Pretty sure I'd still have to deal with the error message, but I just started thinking that maybe I should just put in a solderless chip.

If you do chip it and use the aid oneclick install it wold fix all your probs, that eeprom thing will do nothing to help you out.

If you got the cash man I would get a modchip for sure. As wes said it will fix all your problems and you get the added bonus of bein able to just stick a new HD in if you want and do a complete install with just AID. Also you'd never really have to worry about messin anything up unless you get a bad flash or flash with the incorrect bios. If you are serious about gettin a modchip I would get the Executer 2 or the Executer 3. Those are the best chips to buy in my opinion and most people on here would prolly agree with me. _________________
