Got to have it on static not dhcp and your other ip wont be the router any more it will be the PC.

well now I got them connected, bu can't get the flasFXP to connect. I told you I'm getting it down.

Are you sure your useing crossover cable and not cat 5?

I went to gamestop and asked for a network cable. I checked it out for myself and it has cat 6 written on it. I'm not sure what I was looking for and it was only $2 used. Maybe I have the wrong one, but it works fine as far as linking th pc and tha XBOX together. Just doesn't connect from FXP.

Check the ends and wire color if thay are the same thats network cable for a router.

Well looks like I'm on my way to walmart. With this cable Im going to get, I don't need any internet connection do I? I'm just going to take my laptop with me and do this at a friend's house.

Hell yeah. Gamestop guy assured me that it would work. Guess that's why he's working at gamestop. Hope walmart has it. I want to get this done tonight or tomorrow. I'm tired of running around like a turkey with my head cut off. I'll let you know how it goes.

That sux man but that cable wold work fine if you was useing a router but it must be a cross over for pc to pc or xbox to pc or xbox to xbox.
