I've installed Evolution X with AID 4.01 (dual boot, tray open=MS Dash) (softmod)
the only things I've done was install the new XBMC and I copied c and d to pc with flashget, cause when I get my spare 120GB hd from home, I'm going to prep it with xboxhdm & put it in xbox,
since then my videos dont play fluently over network, caching subtitles goes fast (although no subtitles there ) the last step of loading takes very long...
will get a new crossover cable,
if I want to reinstall the softmod (cause now have AID 4.10), I should take these steps right?
1. remove virtual C
2. uninstall softmod
3. reinstall softmod with newer AID 4.10
is there any benefit in formatting hd and with which is that possible,
cause back ups are on E, you can only format C?
but what would be the point, those files have been there all the time, and never modifications to them, so formatting won't clean anything up?
thanks again

Resoftmodding the xbox with the sid5 wold do nothing to change the way it runs but if thats what you want to do have at it .
Have you tryed clearing you cache files and see if that speeds anything up?
Playing a lot of movies on the xbox can fill up the E:/cache folder fast.
yup, thaught of that too, but clearing cache did not change anything,
I've put my TP-LINK TG-3269 Gigabit Ethernet NIC back into pc (cause I was using one of my two lan connections of Asus motherboard Nforce 590), still can't put it at 100mbit, but now everything is fast enough again, and even faster then before, now I get steady max. speed of 1.12 MB,
but I've read about speeds of upto 10 MB, is that really possible?
so somehow my former set-up did not allow full duplex anymore, weird,
I guess somehow computers are like women, you'll never fully understand them
have a nice one

Go fig cables are a pain i never know if its bad unless the network flickers in and out real fast, and then i still try to act like it might be something other then the cable.
I dont know if its true but i was told if you use a router with a cat6 cable youll get more speed then a cat5.
I need to put that one to the test.
that's what happened with my old crossover cable when I set pc network card to 100mbit full duplex...
with new cable all fixed
