Hey everyone!
I've used AID4.10 lite to install softmod with dual boot hacked dash / Ms dash (open tray),
but in the manual it says you can choose for hacked dash retail hdd, large hdd or larger hdd, but when I installed it, never saw these options (I've installed Evolution X),
I just chose format large hdd, then I backed up eeprom & MS dash, then I installed dual boot softmod,
I'm going to softmod a friends xbox and place a 250gb hdd, can I install that the same way? cause I now have with my 120gb no G-drive, but I'll need G for 250gb... and what about those clusters (and where do you set those settings for clusters?)?
also the manual has this remark:
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using the SID 5 system with the Virtual C + Eeprom, install a normal dashboard to E Drive, not a Softmod one. Due to the way SID 5 is set up it won’t work any other way.
I've initially installed SID5 and I got a virtual C, cause I've installed dual boot, but all that I installed of dashboards was in the Softmod section, so I did something wrong?
I don't understand this note...

The dual boot aoption is so you can play original game dvds on xbox live. Theres a way to boot the MS dash, Im pretty sure you have to hold the eject button for a few seconds to load the ms dash. _________________
while I placed larger hdd in Xbox,
I noticed that the IDE cable is a Standard (40-Conductor) IDE/ATA Cable and not the newer 80-conductor Ultra DMA cable...
that would mean that an xbox can work maximum at ATA66 (DMA-4),
right?
anyone a clue wether putting in a ATA133 (UDMA-6) cable would speed up things, or is the xbox's motherboard not capable of going faster? (maybe it works with PIO mode?)
I'm going to get myself a UDMA IDE cable, you never know it would make a difference

ATA166 is about the best you could hope for I'm afraid man. Like wes said, it'll make a slight difference on load times etc, but don't go expecting it to go breaking any records.
Sometimes the difference is barely noticeable. I run on the principle that it isn't worth going and buying one especially, but if you have one laying around, then by all means stick it in.
