Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you my only hope!
hi guys, ive had my xboxed chipped for over a year now (an Xecuter 2 i belive) and a while ago my xbox developed a strange habbit of spitting out the CD Tray for no apparent reason, sometimes it wouldnt, but 99% of the time if i closed the tray it would just spit it out, since most of my games are on the HDD it didnt bother me much (a120GB BTW) however i recived halo2 this morning anf fired up the ole box, and all i get now is the customer service screen and error code 16, i had a dashboard boot disk my mate made me when he chipped the box, however the drive is still spitting out the disk so i cant seem to load, any sugestions will be greatly apreciated
I NEED HALO 2!!!!!!!!
cheers in advance

Error code 16 is dashboard related, so you need to resolve your dashboard by reinstalling it. It sounds like your DVD Rom drive is failing..can you borror a rom drive from a mate so you can test and see if it's software related or hardware related? At least until you get a new one, maybe you can run the Installer and load up Halo2.
later bud

You can use another DVD but only in parrallel with the original DVD because of the yellow wires with special connector.
Take IDE cable out of original DVD and plug into the new one. Use a Y splitter for powering the DVD with the power connector from HDD. Leave the original DVD connected to its yellow wires.
The easiest is to find a new original DVD or there is like 3 models of OEM drives that also work.
