Aight guys wanna try doin a TSOP mod never done it b4 and I wanna get some things straight. First off what all bios are compatable w/ tsop mods? Two is it possible to bring an Xbox that has a dead HD back by tsoping it? Just a thought since I know you can do this w/ a modchip. Is there any way to run a multi bios setup like on a chip? I remember readin somethin like that on x-s it had to do w/ runnin dual bios, and I'm not sure if its true+I'm banned from there so I can't check I believe there was a tut on it. Last how difficult is it compared to soldering a mod chip in? More questions may arise but thats all I got for now. _________________

Cromwell bios make sure its the right one.
No i dont think you can run more then one bios there wold be no way to switch them.
simple to do less points to solder then a chip.
But i think the dule boot still works.

if its a 1.0-1.1 xbox you can solder on a switch, and run two 512k bios of the tsop. 1.2-1.5 only have a 256k bios. _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com
It is possible to put two bios`s on a TSOP flashed XBox and install a switch to alternate between the two, BUT this can only be done with XBox version 1.0 & 1.1 mobo`s (fact being that the bios on these are 1024kb in size).
To flash the TSOP your XBox needs to boot unsigned microsoft code (in my previous post i told you about softmodding to enable this), therefore if you cant get the softmod on the harddrive, you cant fix it.
And finally, NOT all bios`s work with a TSOP flash. Dont flash a bios with BFM in the title, these are for softmods only. Dont flash any of the x3 bios`s either. Version 1.0 & 1.1 XBox need a 1024kb bios (1mb) & version 1.2 to 1.5 need a 256kb bios, also, if your XBox is a version 1.4 - 1.5 make sure your bios of choice has support for the `focus` video chip (use the evo m8 256kb for these) AND, theres no TSOP to flash on a 1.6 mobo, its a chip only solution for those _________________

Thanks this was alot of help for me man. That would be pretty bad@$$ if there was ne way to recover one doing this. So if I used a v1.0-1.1 I can use any two of the bios that are 512kb that work on a tsop'd box doing it the way they did in that tutorial or is the process different?? _________________

I already knew you couldn't do it on a 1.6 unral clarified that for me last night. Well looks like I'm gonna have to get my hands on one of them mobo hdd sets of ebay for the 1.0 or 1.1. So about the bios thing any bios other than the ones you stated user 1 should work right? _________________

Cool thanks man so I would just trace a line between the points and its good to go? There was also a overcoat pen that they said you can use on the site that had that pen on it should I get it too? Also should I do the flash method in the tut that user1 stuck a link up for or use eurasia flash disk like wes was talkin about. _________________

hey, yeah just connect the points, also i use aid most of the time to flash 1.0-.1.1 xboxes, and eurasia t oflash windbond chips. some people use eurasuia to flash all. but up to you. i also use a home made software, that runs kinda like a softmod, but goes straight to a flasher. it can flash using raincoat too. it runs from splinter cell. i would upload it for ya, but i currently dont have a way to pull it from my usb drive i use for a memory card _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

So step by step I would 1. softmod it 2. do the tsop to the board then 3. flash it. Thats everything right? sorry I keep askin just wanna make sure I got this all right. Before I forget how do you tell if you have a Sharp does it just say sharp on the chip? If I wanna use the Xbox-HQ bios disk would i do it the same as with the eurasia one? Also can I run a HDD without locking it like with a modchip? And finally when you flash the bios I'm guessin that it gets rid of the M$ dash but I just wanna make sure. Well that covers all my questions that I have. Just get back to me on these last ones guys and I'll be ready to give tsoping a go. _________________
