so im thinking of buying a broken xbox off ebay to use for the parts. i know i need a new eeprom, but what happens if i use my old hard drive? on the broken xbox. i just need any info about this as you guys can give me.

If you dont have a chip in the xbox your putting the eeprom onto then you will need to unlock the HDD and lock it again with the new eeprom. If the xbox is broken, it will be hard to lock the drive again before you put it in the new console. _________________

ok the xbox i am going to buy has a error 07, which is a hard drive timeout. what im thinking of doing is putting my old stock hard drive from my xbox into it.

nah its the one im going to buy, but im not going to buy it anymore. im going to just buy a new eeprom. how am i going to have to do this if i do buy this.

Just softmod it and hot swop the hdd.
