im still trying to do some research on this and i want the evolution x dash on wahtever i decide. i looked at both modchips and am still confused. what would be the advantages and disadvantages for both? can someone please help? ty for yur help

I have installed both chips. They offer pretty much the same, with the X3 having the advantage of HTTP bios flashing...but, the Xenium Ice has FTP'ing, and flashing from DVD Rom drive.
I installed on 1.6 versions and the Xenium Ice hands down is three times easier to install. Also, if you have a 1.6 version, bmmods now has the LPC rebuild PCB to avoid having to solder the five extra wires and LFRAME wire.
For 7.99 it's damn well worth it.
The Xenium Ice modchip is a fourth generation chip, just like the X3. The biggest issue with the X3 is it's new. They had a lot of issues getting a decent working bios that is bug free, but they are getting closer with the 1957 bios.
Still... I lean toward the Xenium Ice mod chip.
As far as evox goes, are you talking EvoX M8 bios or are you talking EvoX dashboard. With the X3 chip you must use an X3 bios. With the Xenium Ice chip, you can use the EvoX M8 bios on the 1.6 version machine.
