I have used this method for about 3 xboxes:
XBoxHDM w/NDURE to create the initial mod. Then boot the (Latest)AID disc and perform a new softmod from that. (One click install - very cool and easy)
I did this for my nephew and he took his box with the AID disc. Its been working fine for several days. THen he thinks it all went awry when he started playing Doom 3. Now it boots with the orignal MS dash and will not boot the AID disc.
I have played Doom on mine and not had this problem.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like the softmod has been deleted, or one of the dash files has been removed causing it to boot to M$ Dash.
Just reinstall the softmod, you'll prob find everything is still there, just needs those dash files putting back on.
Yeah, good question. My first softmod experience was with XBHDM (Not with NDure) and hotswapping (No access to another modded box), so Im just used to it. Did not discover SID til later. I never got a memory card and such to try it the other way.
But I guess in this case, since I dont want to rebuild the HD with all the files that are probably still there, I will need to try it...
Will be looking through this site for tips.

Using the SID 5.01, gamesave exploit and memory card really is the easiest thing in the world.
You'll be softmodded in about 10 mins, with no probs. Its the method I use every time, never fails.
I have been meaning to get set up this way anyway. I got a copy of Splinter cell yesterday ($2.00). Are there any versions of Splinter cell that do not work?
Looked around for a memory card, but no luck. Lots of places are getting real low on XBox 1 accessories (Used)... I'm sure I will find one, got a few more places to look.

Ebay it, you'll find everything on there. Anyways, most platnium versions of spliter cell doesn't work with the gamesave. _________________
I was able to fix it using SID and the Splinter Cell exploit. Of course it was real easy and yes, I will be doing it this way from now on.
The Platnum Hits version of SC worked fine for me.
Yeah, Game Stop is where I went to get SC for $2.00. But they had no mem cards. I had my nephew get one and that worked out. Will keep looking, now that I am not in a hurry...
