This could be a stupid question, but uhh i'm about to install a xecuter3 CE as some of you know.
And whas just checking the modchips section on this site....
How come it says about xecuter3 that there is no nosolder install for it?
Or am i making mistake between xecuter3 and xecuter3 CE?
as i said this could be stupid question...
I'll hear, and o yeah is it correct that the AID auto installer deluxe v4.02 is only expansion and is need to download v4.01 seperatly to actually use it with my modding?
Thanks

Yes thare is a solderless for all X-2 X-3 chips, the X-3 ce chip can be hooked up with this solderless http://www.mod-chip.com/en/xecuter3_solderless.php
In fact the X-3 ce can be found all over in a combo with the solderless kit.

The aid 4.02 can be used stand alone no need for 4.01 if you get 4.02 thare is just more addon options with the 4.02 and miner fixes.
Hope that helps and have a good one guy. Very Happy

Nice thanx mate,
i whas twisting a bit because i didn't see full pdf guides on the solderless adapter and xecuter3 CE, but xecuter3 CE full guide i just found.
Just saw that v4.02 whas a update so i thought it whas solely an expansion pack so i had downloaded both v4.01 and v4.02 but i see there's no need to keep the v4.01 files.
But the funny thing is, is that the v4.01 version is ruffly a 1gb and the v4.02 is about 500mb???
i don't see an iso in the v4.02 folder or is it because i still have to make one, using the craxtion4 just because i already have that unless you recommend me a better one.
Super thanks for all of your help, and o yeah still flippy waiting for the package to come in Shocked Razz

PS: checking tut here about xecuter3 CE assuming that it has to be soldered. not that I'm gonna be doing that, but that 5volt point in the v1.6 with the xapt3r comes a red wire with a almost pen like clipper on it. (the part which actually goes on the 5volt part, doesn't that get in the way when you re assemble your xbox?

I can get that, meaning for example i just copy the addons from the v4.02 folder to the one in the v4.01 etc. and when finished create an xiso of it with craxtion.... sweet thanx allot mate...

key thanks, whas thinking bout that....
Now another Q... I whas reading arround on the forum bout the different brands of dvd player in the xbox,
And i shaw the forum section about burning backup etc.
The first sticky has a nice manual with different brands of dvd players, to see the compatibility on cds/dvds but mine is note there i have a Hitachi/Lg that came with the xbox here i picture of my dvd player...

Is there any compatibility manual on this one?
I think Microsoft keeps changing brands on stuff because they like to keep modders busy Cool

I think thay are changeing to who ever will biuld it cheaper to keep more cash in the bank but your right it dose the modder no good. Laughing
When it comes to type of disc to use its best on most drives to use a cd rw if your useing cd's xbox's seem to hate anything other then rw but my samsung 605 dose good with the cd -r.
If your useing a dvd the best bet is to get -r and a plus r till you find whats best most of the time youll find its the +r but you never know.
I have not seen any compatibility charts but i can say i had a tompson drive same make as my boy a few blocks away and his did good with the -r and mine wold not read them at all so i think its just a matter of trial and error. Very Happy

Alright thanx,
Hehe i finally found some usefull info on the drive i have on this forrum down here:

Quote:
Microsoft is now using a new DVD-ROM drive in the Xbox console. Frequent modders or people with a very recent Xbox probably already saw this new drive for some time. The new drive is made by Hitachi and LG ('H-L'), the model is GDR-8050L. The new drive appears in some Xbox consoles manufactured since end september 2004 (Xbox v1.6/v1.6b) and the build date of the drive is September 2004 or later. The drive has a white connector cable instead of yellow and the tray looks a lot like the one on the Thomson drive but with a wider cutout.

From reports in other forums the drive seems to work fine with most DVD-+R, DVD-RW and CDRW media, but fails to boot most CD-R discs. There's a forum discussion about this new DVD-ROM drive where they are also trying to find the PC drive from Hitachi and/or LG that matches the hardware of this new Xbox drive. If there's such a drive the firmware from the H-L Xbox drive could be flashed on the PC-drive. This PC-drive could then be used as cheap fully working (also boot orignal Xbox discs) replacement drive, like done with the discontinued Samsung 616T PC-drive
