Anyways, back onto the subject at hand here:
The current MS Dash that will be installed is MS Dash 5969.03 Revision 17F14D00
This will be the one included for testing in the next beta release, I'll try and get this ONE last beta test done before the official release of it..
Also, does anyone know if the MS Dash 5960 Revision 185EAD00 is any better at all? From what I've heard it's supposed to be guarenteed to work on all xboxes v1.0 - v1.6...
Can anyone please clarify this for me quickly before I put the new beta build up for test?

It seems to be a newer revision, and if it passes the tests it will stay.

I can't wait to finish it either, but I'm just being patient. The way I see it, the longer it takes it to come out, the more up-to-date it will be with apps etc. For instance I could've released it a couple of weeks ago and missed all the new emulators that just came out, and also the newest XBMC and X3 BIOS.
I tested MS Dash 5960 last night on my Xbox and it seems to work fine. If anyone else wants to try out this particular dash, I grabbed it from Slayer's 2.6 Final. It "claims" to work on all versions, so if this is the case it's the perfect revision to use.
Also, for everyone who is asking "when will the installer come out?" PLEASE STOP ASKING ME THAT!! It will come out when it's good and ready, hehehe. I will say that it should be released by the end of this month, but I can't say exactly when. I understand that a lot of you are very keen to try this out, and I guarentee that you won't be disappointed.

The whole idea of this installer isn't to make money. It was be morally wrong to both our members and the xbox scene in general to sell this.
As far as distribution goes of this installer, it will be available in 2 places:
* VIP Downloads Section
* Bit Torrent (Yes I actually do want it on Bit Torrent)
The VIP's get the added bonus of being able to download the installer practically immediately, but ppl using a torrent will have to be patient and rely on other seeders / leechers.
The only way that we'd actually send out the installer (on DVD-R format for our members without DVD Burners) was for a donation, NOT a purchase. It would be something like $10 US just basically to cover the time to burn the DVD, the blank DVD itself, postage (anywhere in the world), plus my time to do it all. This send would include the DVD-R, plus a copy of the installer in ISO format on a normal CD-R.
Mind you that I also live in Australia hence why I had to make sure the donation was of a decent amount to cover the postage.
Anyways, that's about it for now...

XBMC still inoperative after install. Hey bobrownik, you have that problme too. This is the second machine I tried and still go the same issue.
Also, still cannot install DVD Region Free for MS Dash. The install progress bar shows briefly, but then disappears.
XBMC Faterl Load Error:...same error that Beta 5 gave me.
MS Dash no longer frags on the 1.6 WOO WOO!
As far as the XBMC goes, whenever I install overtop of it with the 1.3 installer, I can see that this one is a much bigger file as I can watch memory go down. I am assuming something isn't getting installed like missing folders or something??

So when you are installing XBMC as the default dashboard are these brand new HDD's or the retail HDD's?
Its strange coz if its not a New Hdd it works perfectly.. I must have installed and used it as a dash about 3 times atleast for my mates who wanted a change..
anyway, hope we get all these tiny bugs ironed out soon..

Actually, I am not installing it as a dashboard at all. That may be the problem. I didn't look through the list of applications, I only assumed that like the 1.3 installer that it was with the applications as well.
I am using 250GB brand new HD.
I am in the middle of FTPing about 20GB of roms, so I can't check, but can anyone confirm if XBMC is an application that get's installed when you select install ALL Applications..
The only Dashboard I have installed so far has been EvoX to C and it's running flawlessly. Also, the Emulators didn't choke on me this time like they did in the Beta 5. So, if the XBMC is installer error, meaning me, then the only issue I have so far is the DVD Region Free.

or as a dash?
the MS dvd region free does same thing as yours ,
but it could be working , the reason it might dissapear so soon because
it only copies 1 file ,,
i have no other region dvds so cant test it for sure,
xbmc works as a dash but it gives an error "no list found" at boot
and you cant access anything through MY PROGRAMS only MY FILES ,
the option BOOT C:\ DRIVE DASH hangs a lot , i think thats because the dash is trying to recognise the dvd thats in the drive ,
besides that , no dash can recognise the installer even though it boots every time from the bios , its a dvd+r burned as dvd-rom ,
when a dvd is inserted in AVA the DVD ICON doesnt appear but the invisible link is there ,
unleashx video settings is set to PAL by default , it works fine untill u run a game , then the screen gets messed up , when you go back to dash the screen is still messed up untill the xbox is rebooted , easy fix , change to ntsc by default

The reason why it's so quick is because all it does is copy a >1mb xbe file over the top of the current xobxdash.xbe that is already patched. So basically bobrownik was right.
As far as the XBMC problem, about the only thing I can think of is take a look at the config files, atleast this way it will be easy for you to test as they are very small, and I could easily attach it to a forum post.
Anyways I'll have a look at it tonight and hopefully get back to you later on about it.
