I just bought an xbox, with an executer 2 mod, and want to insatll an new 320 gig drive and start with a fresh install. can i just burn the auto installer to a dvd and then insatll the new drive, then can i start with the dvds image file and insatll the auto insatller?
I looked through all my settings and could find nothing about the bios. do i have to worry about, the bios file?

One last thing, so i can change the drive to my 320 and run the iso image?
or do i need to run something else?

install chip
flash chip with bios
unlock old hard drive before you remove it
install new hard drive
use AID4 to format hard drive
then use AID4 to install dash apps
that all you need to do

System info says my drive is locked, i have read that if my box is modded i dont have to worry about unlocking the drive to swap it out. is this true?
Also there seems to be a lot of options to choose from when you install aid4, can i choose to install everything, i want to play as many music, video files as i can. and get the full functionality of my new xbox media center.

unlock the old hard drive before you remove it as when you put the new one in and it locks it is given a diff key then old one and if you wish to use the old one into another xbox and its locked it will not work you need to unlock any hard drive before you remove it

One more question,
I have been reading about unlocking my hard drive and from what i understand i need a computer, and i only have a laptop. so is there a way to unlock the drive with a piece of software? as i cant use my laptop to connect the ide cable.

its not absolutely necessary. if the old HDD will only be used in its original xbox then you dont need to unlock it. If you plan to put it in the pc or another xbox unlock it first or write down the unlock code generated by Evox dash backup and unlock on the pc manually when you need to

cool so i can just remove the hard drive and put in my seagate 320 and run the aid disc and install the software and use my xbox?
and if i want to use the 80 gig drive on my pc i need to unlock it first and if not un locked i can at any time put it back in my xbox and use it?
should my seagate be locked?
I also plan on backing up my xbox files first as i'm reading this would be a good idea.

unlock the hard drive using flashbios or a unlocking xbox app you need to do this if you put new one in then think i put the old one back in then it will not work or you wish to put it into another xbox it will not work you need to unlock it

Thanks for the help guys.
I'm going to use configmagic to unlock my hd, the ini file says to make sure the paths are correct for the eeprom.bin and eeprom.config files, the default says D:\data\eeprom.bin
well if i ftp my xbox there is nothing in my D drive it is empty. and i cant find any eeprom.bin or eeprom.config files.
am i correct in thinking i need to back this up to put on the new drive so it works?
